By the way the faster someone pats here - the weaker the hand usually is anyway. So if you really wanna send the "I'm not that strong" signal just pat quickly I'm actually giving Suzuki credit here think the knows all this and knows Chad is an experienced high stakes player who isn't going to think "oh wow he really has a decision here" and change his decision. The Hollywood and pat move is usually a nutted hand

Lol at "having to balance it". It's a situation where Chad is almost always just dead. And even if by some miracle he's not - the speed that Suzuki pats is unlikely to influence his decision much and even if by yet another miracle Chad correctly breaks and is not drawing dead - Suzuki still has him in a terrible spot where he's almost always gonna bust. If you wanna Hollywood for a few seconds to act like you have a decision ok fine. 2 minutes? You're just slow rolling and being a douchebag

@chanian @hill_kerby If he really tanked for 2 minutes it's an absurd slow roll Anyone who actually plays this game would agree

@hill_kerby Definitely not a slowroll. Snapping would have been such an unnecessary EV loss, too

No limit single draw is maybe the most beautiful game there is and I might be one of the hardest players to bluff. Really proud of this hand even though it’s a small pot.

Tips for the @WSOP $1500 Badugi today: -Not all badugis are playable from all positions. If you open a rough K or Q Badugi (with no redraw) from early position be prepared to be put in some tough spots.

I know not everyone believes me but that unlimited reentry, registration open until sub 20 big blinds, and way too many events all the time are bad for the poker industry! There are signs even today…..

We started Phenom Poker because we wanted to be the Rebellion in an industry that has continually moved against player interests Since then, our industry's flagship series has been purchased and is now not only anti-player but anti-competition and the "industry leader" is acting even more like "The Empire" than before. Healthy competition and a variety of options is GOOD for poker. It keeps rake reasonable and forces operators to earn your trust and loyalty Allowing the industry to be monopolized is bad for players. It will result in higher rake, worse rewards, and less incentives for the operator to act in your best interests. Luckily, our little Rebellion grows a little bigger every day. We won't stop fighting for poker. All are welcome

Patch or no patch I’m a proud ambassador for @PhenomPokerApp. If you see me on the felt this summer feel free to ask me about our player first approach to online poker. I’m confident that once you give us a shot you will feel the difference and join in on the revolution 🖤💪🚀

Lmao c'mon. This is so bad faithed. Putting aside the fact that every major sport pays the players & has a player union to help negotiate such things, the World Series profits DIRECTLY from the same ppl they are restricting. This is a good time to remind everyone that the players pay large fees to play AND are the only reason GG or WSOP even exist. I don't really care if they choose to ban sponsorship as they have a right to do as they please, but let's not pretend this is anything less than petty/greedy.

This is going to upset some poker players but @WSOP pre-approval requirement for patches on featured tables is smart business. Hear me out... Tell me where I am wrong . Every mature sport does this: the host controls the arena. The @PGATOUR enforces strict logo size, placement, and approval guidelines on its events, while asking @livgolf_league players to dial back their branding when competing on PGA stages. Augusta National sets its own rigid standards for the Masters. The IOC’s Rule 40 tightly restricts what personal sponsors athletes can promote during the Olympics. WSOP owns poker’s biggest stage. They have every right to curate sponsors on their broadcasts to protect mainstream appeal — approving established operators while blocking unregulated ones makes sense for long-term growth. This professionalizes the game, attracts premium partners, and expands the audience beyond the wild-west era. That's my take... yours? Good for poker’s future, or short-sighted gatekeeping?

It's honestly hilarious that people are acting like this is some move related to "integrity" or "caring about type of sponsors" etc When it's simply - WSOP bought by GG and GG wants to control/monopolize the WSOP for its own purposes. Yes it's their right as owners but let's not pretend it's anything other than what it is - anti competitive behavior in bad faith with the tradition of the WSOP

@Phenomaly @BarstoolNate @Joeingram1 Competition good. Illegal, unregulated money laundering operations that pool player funds in one account? Not good for anyone. Players, their “sponsored” pros lol, or poker.

The poker wars are heating up this looks bigger than a patch/logo crackdown From how I’m reading the WSOP rules, this is now about controlling what branded/promotional content can be created inside the WSOP and then distributed on YouTube, IG, X, livestreams, etc. If your content includes sponsor reads, affiliate links, logo overlays, promotional language, or a brand WSOP does not approve, that may no longer be treated as just “creator content.” It may be treated as unauthorized promotion. CoinPoker and Phenom Poker have reportedly already been denied. I’d assume ClubWPT Gold will face heavy scrutiny too, especially after last year’s final-table promo controversy. This matters because a ton of poker creators monetize WSOP content through sponsor reads, affiliate deals, logos, patches, overlays, and links. Last year we saw sponsor promotion become part of the bracelet/final-table conversation which is a big inspiration for this change. So the question is not: “Can I wear this patch?” The real question is: “Can I use the WSOP as the backdrop for monetized poker content promoting a competing or restricted gaming brand?” That is a much bigger war
Patrick Leonard 🫡@padspoker

Re: @25kfantasy not sure what/if I’ll play. Currently been denied to wear a patch, which I believe can lead to disqualification at the tournament directors discretion. I imagine, as with a lot of other players, this will complicate things. I understand and respect WSOP is more GGlive now and won’t break the rules. The rules are the rules, I’ll respect them even if I disagree with them. I do think that sites are extremely demotivated to invest in players in our space when the flagship series restricts outside investment. Probably playing $200 daily with Brad Owen at New Orleans. Good luck everybody at the draft & at the series.

@Phenomaly I thought the WSOP was supposed to be the place for that but we've seen it happen often in poker when new owners take over that brand, they start to go a lot different direction

@Joeingram1 WSOP seems way off here. The best players are patched up and have the most dedicated followings. A patch on a shirt is as normal as anything at a televised table and probably is better for WSOP if casuals see it and start playing.
