This is the sauce. Franโs campaign isnโt just a flat data center moratorium โ itโs the ONLY statewide campaign (in the country?) thatโs thought through data center and AI issues and how they relate to land use, economic development, labor politics, and civil and consumer rights.

@admcrlsn To add, I think youโre missing here how the Hong campaignโs policy treats data centers and AI policy as entangled problems of labor and economic development. Sheโs developing an approach for a mid-sized state to guide social and economic AI adjustment for the public benefit

People are underrating this. More than any momentum democratic socialism might be having, I think data center politics are the No. 1 driving factor in her ascent in the primary. That no one else in the six-candidate Democratic field is backing a data center moratorium is insane.

Jeff Hanneman was infuriated to learn about a proposal this spring to build a 220-acre data center on the site of a shuttered paper mill near his house in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin
Worried that the project would pollute the tranquil waters of the nearby Wisconsin River, Mr. Hanneman, 43, planted a โNo Data Centerโ sign in his yard.
And, although heโs a Republican who voted for President Trump, he decided to support a democratic socialist who has called for a pause in data center construction and is running for governor.

my current favorite youtube food channel (SaucyMarco) I like his economical and simple straightforward approach. SaucyMarco demystifies a lot of Mexican food like Mexican red rice, beans, and various salsas. Iโve learned a lot and itโs a new channel with lots of great recipes.
