Last night was one of if not most significant nights of my life. Getting to play the home town stadium was already a fever dream but having one of the many heros that were there last night present an award to me was not on my bingo card. Thank you @departed_musici @OklaMusicHall for choosing me for the rising star award. It is one of the greatest honors in my life. My heart is full of emotions for what has happened in the last 24 hours. I will always be proud to be an Oklahoman and a red dirt artist. Thank you all for believing in my music and me. I love y’all so much!

@Okie_Rancher I look at my own principles/morals/convictions and see which candidate, for the most part, aligns with mine. I may not always agree with said individual, which is ok, but they’re the one who I feel like can do the best for me. And if that makes me selfish, then so be it

I’m getting loads of responses to political posts saying they agree and the candidate is a RINO. I have news for you. I am a RINO. I’m a RINO because my party no longer believes in protecting privacy (fisa), free speech (opposing Israel’s war is now anti semitic hate speech), lowering spending (we’re a trillion more in debt than before), transparency/prosecution (Epstein), and no new wars (let me count the ways). Trump has done some good and has also broken a lot of campaign promises… over and over. Kamala would’ve still been worse in my view, but the issues are what they are. So I won’t vote for particular candidates for the reasons stated, but it has nothing to do with Party loyalty. I have zero Party loyalty. Principles? Yes. If the party truly follows conservative principles at some point in the future, then maybe we’ll again be aligned. Right now, we’re not. Granted, ‘the party’ doesn’t care and neither do any candidates as I’m mostly typing into the void here, I have zero influence, but for those few who listen I want to make it clear that I’m not a ‘be a team player when team is wrong’ guy. Principle > Party. Always.

Governor candidate overview: Drummond: Covered up Terry O’Donnell scandal as political favor (took over case after indictment and dismissed all while saying O’Donnell was guilty), gives big ag/tyson such a sweet settlement even the judge won’t accept it, can’t give straight answer on past political donations (I could respect him saying ‘I changed my mind,’ or ‘my wife votes how she votes’ rather than this weird ‘we had a fight’ then ‘it was a mistake’). Give me uncomfortable truth instead of evasive lies. McCall: Worked with O’Donnell (yep, there’s that name again) to get house to approve a rule that consolidated all power to hear/kill bills in the speaker and committee chairs (see prior post in details). Keating: Big Ag advocate while framing it as helping small operators (wants Tyson to get an ever better deal than Drummond gave). Just wants Trump pat on the head. I’m all for Supporting Trump when he’s right but I’ve no interest in those without spine enough to point out when he’s wrong. Served on OU Health board which is the most dysfunctional ‘on the verge of bankruptcy’ trainwreck in Oklahoma healthcare, stopped internal DPS cheating investigations on officer exams. Oh, and he said publicly after the indictment “I have a tremendous amount of respect for Rep. O’Donnell” Oh my, there’s that name again … Mazzei: A Big Ag supporter who was ‘recognized’ by the Oklahoma Farm Bureau (the voice of big ag in Oklahoma) and given an award for ‘supporting rural issues’ along with his fellow cosponsor of multiple bills (you guessed it) Terry O’Donnell. Jake Merrick is the only candidate not taking PAC money, the only candidate not loaning his own campaign millions… …and he’s the only candidate who hasn’t cozied up to Terry O’Donnell.
