If the government has to run over it's citizens to "do what's best for it's citizens"... ...then it's not "doing what's best"—it's admitting the citizens were never the priority in the first place. A government that has to steamroll its own people to achieve its goals has already failed the basic test of legitimacy.

I believe in the FREE market! I hope the general public can see past the superficial compassion mandatory minimum wage comes cloaked as. It’s actually government overreach that will drive prices high and good businesses toward closure. Vote NO on SQ832

Well yesterday was pretty monumental for me, my family and my supporters. I crossed the finish line on the Texas border. 386 miles completed down Route 66 in 66 days. Numerous people connected with. Numerous burgers from local diners fueling the journey. I visited with business owners, parents, teachers, farmers and ranchers. We prayers. We discussed policy. And we stuck hundreds of yard signs in the ground. The process solidified a resolve in me. Not only WOULD I do anything for the people of the state. I am absolutely confident that I COULD. Many things need addressed in this state. There are some massive battles to fight. (Education, agency reform, tax reform, etc…) None of these changes will happen overnight, but with determination, a state full of good people around me, and dependence on Almighty God, we absolutely can do it. I closed the chapter on the run down Route 66. Mission accomplished. Next, sprint to June 16th.

Yes, I’d support a bill like SB 2073 to ban state agencies and public universities from hiring H-1B workers. Immigration is a federal issue, so the state can’t fully eliminate the program. But we can absolutely stop using Oklahoma taxpayer dollars to bring in foreign labor instead of hiring Oklahomans first.

Hey! I’m sorry for the misunderstanding. Yes, I AM in favor of the deportation of those who are here illegally. I may have acknowledged the emotion connected to the break up of families and the loss of good workers. Nonetheless, deportation is required when a nation that has laws and expects these laws to be enforced and obeyed.

@TWShannon was endorsed by our great America First President and he has my vote! Let’s hope we get a Governor candidate worthy of President Trump’s endorsement. I was full @JakeMerrick4Gov but heard a speech where he did not support 100% illegals being deported… Jake please clarify.

Gotcha. Well for the record, I’m opposed to the minimum wage all together. Let the free market work. Employers should be able to pay what they can afford to pay. If someone can’t work for that wage, they can seek employment elsewhere. SQ832 is absolute government overreach. It will kill many businesses (large and small), raise rates for the consumer, and expedite the effort to replace humans with robots to do the same jobs.

Ryan Haynie - Protect Jobs: Vote NO on 832
@JakeMerrick4Gov I'm sure you're right. But I work in this space, and I see those forums as mostly a waste of time. I'm talking about social media posts and the like that speak directly (and only) to SQ 832. Similar to how the candidates spoke out publicly on SQ 836.

I have a feeling consultants are telling candidates for governor not to weigh in on SQ 832. But the one with the stones to come out publicly against it would jump to the top of my consideration.
