NEW VIDEO : How the BOM has doctored Australia’s climate record by shrinking the size of the Stevenson Screens. The Bureau of Meteorology has systematically replaced the larger sized Stevenson screens (the white louvered box that houses the thermometers) traditionally used throughout Australia with small Stevenson Screens. The peer-reviewed science has found that such a trick artificially measures higher temperatures on average by 0.54°C over 12 months and up 1.7°C in summer. waclimate.net/stevenson-size… But the BOM denies the peer-reviewed science and asserts that such an equipment change has had no effect on measured temperatures. Accurate measurement of Australia’s temperatures and accurate comparisons with past temperatures is critical. I call on the BOM to run a series of independent tests at several different geographic locations comparing temperature readings from large and small screens placed side by side. Surely they have nothing to hide ? "Real action on climate change" could be as simple as going back to the original large screens - for if the peer reviewed study is correct, this would reduce temperatures in Australia the middle of summer by almost 1°C No doubt these facts will trigger anti-science climatards that see any questioning of the BOM’s methods as an attack on their religion. But Labor and even many of my Coalition colleagues mocked. Tomago is a massive industrial facility north of Newcastle that employs 1000+ staff as well as 200 contractors. It uses 10% of NSW’s electricity. It creates wealth. It’s production contributes $2.2 billion annually to the Australian economy, of which $800 million is spent locally. The smelter produces 590,000 tonnes of aluminium every year, which is 37% of Australia’s primary aluminium. 90% of the product made at Tomago is exported to the Asia-Pacific region. The site area is 500 hectares. It should be worth tens of billions, but now the owner of Tomago has written its value down $0. It’s completely worthless. It’s a write off, because it can no longer get internationally competitively electricity. And once it’s gone, it will never come back. The Net Zero insanity has destroyed billions in the asset value of Tomago, and when it closes there won’t just be 1200 direct job losses, but $800 million will disappear from the local economy annually, which kill thousands of other jobs and small businesses in the region. It’s a tragedy for Australia. But we’ve done it to ourselves by electing weak and cowardly politicians who bend over to globalist agenda of Net Zero. This should be a wake-up call for the nation, but sadly we have too many selfish Teal voters that think they are immune from the financial consequences of Tomago closing - and place more importance on their self-indulgent virtue signalling. theaustralian.com.au/business/norsk…
