ABS is not the strike zone.
The box on the screen is not the strike zone.
This is a major issue. Openly flawed.

Finally there is a system to hold them accountable, and if they were smart, they would utilize it to improve their craft.

Hot Take: I like the ABS but placing the square in the middle of the plate is a little unfair to the umpires. There’s no “hitting the corner” any more like Maddux used to do. ABS should be the entire plate, not a slice in the middle of it

@xan_desanctis In what other sport are boundaries subjective? Imagine a first down being a little farther away with some officiating crews. Or the 3 point line being closer. Also, live crowds are going nuts for overturned calls in big spots.

I get why people want ABS, and I’m likely in the minority here, but I much preferred the experience of watching baseball before the replay/challenge era, human error notwithstanding. Using tech to optimize everything is boring.
