Garrett must participate in 84.375% of offseason workout sessions, attend all minicamps and OTAs, and report to training camp on time to make $1M. He's signed to a contract worth only $160 million.

@CoachLisle Good question to ask recruits, too. Setting expectations early. Also set the expectation that their ‘social life’ is pretty much tied to the sport they are playing.

Every HS kid I ask “wants to play” in college. But so many don’t want: 20 hours of practice/weights 20 hours of class/study hall 0 hours of “social life” Some weeks: 6-7 days a week. 6am starts. 10pm ends. Sooo...Do you REALLY want it?

@JuckOnBucks That’s not what’s in print. ‘Wanting’ to be the best and ‘being’ the best are two entirely different things. Without hard work and development from both the coach & player, how else would one ‘be’ a first rounder? His inference is the hole in the statement.

@suralargonus @openmikedj @Notwokenow Nope. You don’t get ejected for obstruction. I say straddle the plate, and if the fool doesn’t slide - especially when there’s a play - light him up. Teach your kids to box, if fools think they can bring football to the diamond - the gloves come off, hockey style.

@openmikedj @Notwokenow There are rules that justify both players being ejected. The No Run-Over Rule and the catcher not being allowed to block the plate without actual possession of the ball.

@CoachLisle The pendulum has to be somewhere in the middle. Between your thoughts and ‘Not everyone gets a trophy’. 🏆 your framing criticism in a negative light. If you can’t positively critique - you shouldn’t coach as a parent.

Parents: When you continue to criticize and give love based on athletic performance, they don’t stop loving you. They just stop loving themselves.

BTW... that was an absolute disaster by ESPN. Kudos to anybody who actually was able to find the bottom of the 8th between #OU/Texas in time. I missed the Hannah Wells' HR. Got to ESPN+ in time for Stewart's bomb. A mess.
