Hi everyone. I’m Lisas daughter. This is one of my favorite pictures of her and me together. They just took mom back for surgery. I’m not good with medical stuff like she is. She has a tube breathing for her and has been in and out of consciousness for a couple of days now. I can’t explain exactly what is going on, I don’t know how to. What I can say is she was born with some kind of hereditary condition that can go unnoticed until later in life. Out of the 8 kids born, she and one of my uncles have this condition. It was found in my uncle first, which caused all the kids to get checked. The doctors call it a bicuspid aortic valve. Her heart only has 2 valves pumping blood to it when there should be 3. The surgery she is having is to make a 3rd valve for her heart. This is pretty much all I know. Except before they took her for surgery, her pastor and his wife said prayers at her bedside, and I saw a tear roll down mom’s cheek. I always humored mom when it came to god. I won’t do that again. I have seen her response to him, and when I came here to let you know how mom is, and I see prayers. If she knew how many of you were pulling for her, praying for her, I know she would have something amazing to say, all I know to say is thank all of you. Mom told me there are many people here she is so grateful to have met, now I see why. The surgery time can vary, when she comes out, I’ll come back with another update. Thank you for caring about my mom the way you do, thank you for praying for her.

J, I can perhaps offer this suggestion. As your seeking is on going, these verses from Hebrews 6 can be a great guide. I use them to this day. The 6 fundamental teachings about Christ. Incidentally, the number 6 is the number of man. Not a coincidence. It speaks of our life walk back to God through Christ himself. Very cool. 😎✝️ 1. Repentance from dead works 2. Faith toward God 3. These include: 1) Experimental fraud, reproducibility crisis, proliferation of errors, and "pay for play" junk papers; 2) Some scientists are currently debating whether experiment and observation - cornerstones of the scientific method - are necessary for scientific theories*; 3) Big Science seems to be spinning its wheels in the mud - few new paradigms for subject areas which have clearly stagnated. The problem is, when scientists and society no longer see science as the search for truth about the natural world, but as something that serves society** or material gain, then all sorts of corruptions find their way in. But when the overarching objective is the search for truth about God's creation, and you believe you're accountable first and foremost to him, that tends not only to act as a brake on humanity's worst impulses, but to inspire humanity's best efforts. Let's hope we return to this view. * Mostly I've seen this in service of the multiverse hypothesis. Avid proponents want to loosen the definition of science to include the unobservable multiverse. ** Science serving society sounds noble, but it's ultimately corrupting. Scientific fraud is on the rise, with some scientists fabricating case studies (mostly in medicine) because they "know" their ideas must be right and will benefit society. The sad thing is, this is unnecessary. God designed the world so that good science, carried out as the search for truth, will yield good fruit for society.
