Because it might be easy to say that trans women are hysterics (maybe a lot are!) but more importantly Lacanianism rejects the stifling notions of heterosexual complementarism that I think regulates the overall discourse both public and private about trans people.

I think Lacan is good for trans people once you step away from the pathologising of queerness (an idea Freud himself rejected) and even more obvious in the second order reflexive understanding of psychic processes related to language emphasized in Lacan
