Never in Pakistanโ€™s history has such brutality been so clearly and widely documented as under the regime of General Asim Munir. Civilians are being tried in military courts, the judiciary has been completely subjugated, enforced disappearances by state security forces occur with impunity, while the media has been completely censored. Sulaiman Khan said that attempts by the regime to present itself as a facilitator of regional peace are merely efforts to whitewash its image on the global stage, to distract from human rights abuses at home. #AsimLaw

โ€œOur father has lost 80% of his vision. Heโ€™d been complaining about his eye for months but was getting ignored. Itโ€™s only now been treated later then it should have been. There is only one story that matters, and it is this. Rest everything is a short-term distraction, deception, and delusion. No level of geopolitical relevance can hide Imran Khan's continued incarceration, and torture at the hands of the military regime.
Aleema Khanum@Aleema_KhanPK

Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan is in solitary confinement since October 16, 2025. He has spoken to his sons only twice in 2025 and once in February 2026 after Supreme Court orders. He has been denied books to read. He has received only 3 of the dozen books that we managed to get to adiala through a judge. Then, a perfectly health and fit Imran Khan suddenly develops a clot in his eye. He was not provided medical assistance. For two weeks, he repeatedly told the jail superintendent that he CANNOT SEE. The Adiala Jail superintendent Ghafoor Anjum DELAYED calling in a specialist for three months. By the time the eye doctor came, the delay caused permanent damage to Imran Khanโ€™s eye. We are extremely worried that his other eye could also develop a clot. Imran khan has repeatedly sent messages over past few months that he is not satisfied with the treatment and there is only marginal improvement after the first injection in the eye. No improvement since then. Over the past month, Bushra Bibi, his wife has also developed an eye condition and was operated upon last week. Imran khan and his wife are being tortured through solitary confinement. We have repeatedly protested, demanding Imran Khan to be examined and treated at Shifa International Islamabad. There is an urgent need to identify the cause of the blood clot. Our worry is that his other eye could also develop a clot unless proper diagnosis is done and itโ€™s treated accordingly This is inhumane and a violation of all fundemental and human rights of a prisoner under Pakistan and International laws.

Deft diplomacy or millions of dollars spent to buy access? This kind of "investment" would make sense if it resulted in improved human development indicators and living conditions for ordinary Pakistanis. Instead, it has only served to entrench an illegitimate regime

With due respect to Mushahid, this is completely off. Pakistan has not delivered anything meaningful at all on all the three "C" fronts. The real story of how Pakistan got close to DC is entirely different, and one we have been telling @DropSiteNews again and again.

What are they hiding??! Imran Khan's sister @Aleema_KhanPK said their only priority is the proper diagnosis and treatment of the underlying condition that led to blot clots in his retinal vein in the first place. Why is his medical care being blocked and shrouded in secrecy? What is Pakistan's military regime trying to cover up? #EndUnlawfulDetentionOfKhan

This is a lovely article by @DanQayyum that captures the extraordinary resilience, warmth, hospitality, talent, and wicked sense of humor that Pakistanis have shown time and again--often in the face of great adversity. Recent examples of this resilience include: millions who braved severe restrictions and pre-poll rigging to vote in 2024, who still cling to the promise of Pakistan even as their ballots were stolen, who dare to speak truth to power despite the constant fear of enforced disappearances, and who continue peaceful protests knowing they may be met with lethal force. Where I disagree with the piece is this line: โ€œThe people who showed up this week to mediate between two nuclear-armed adversaries, who flew their Field Marshal into a war zone and their Prime Minister to Riyadhโ€ฆ are the same people who chase you down the street to return your forgotten money, who dance to the songs written to insult themโ€ฆโ€ They are NOT the same people. Pakistanis did not elect Shehbaz Sharif to represent them, nor did they choose the military dictator imposed upon them. What often misleads the world about Pakistan is not just sensationalized or biased media coverage, but also the misguided, authoritarian, corrupt, and often slavish policies pursued by those who claim to lead us. The real Pakistan isn't defined by its ruling elite, it's defined by the grit of its people. And they deserve to be understood and celebrated for who they truly are.

Before a society collapses, commonsense collapses first. There are always those that spin your words here to fit their propaganda, but more and more Iโ€™m noticing those that canโ€™t probably even read anymore. I shared this Fox article as a signal, a red flag on what trouble is headed our way. Instead, some are parading this as an endorsement to the article. Iโ€™m pointing at a storm gathering, and their bigger concern is if I endorse the storm.

Here is the first sign of trouble that I've been warning about. The regime in Pakistan is running a deeply personal foreign policy around an "individual", overriding institutions, protocols and balance. It happens when you don't have domestic credibility or legitimacy. Result? The personal ambitions and excessive PR can drag the entire country down. Pakistan's shuttle diplomacy to ease tensions between Iran and the United States comes at a critical moment. Any effort to prevent escalation and broker peace is welcome. Yet for Pakistanโ€™s current leadership, this diplomatic activism serves another, more domestic purpose: it offers a much-needed lifeline to generate external legitimacy at a time when a large majority of Pakistanis view them as corrupt, illegitimate, and increasingly authoritarian. If only the Pakistani regime had invested the same amount of time in building strong institutions, addressing electricity shortfalls, creating a favorable investment climate, and generating honest tax revenues, Pakistan would be far better off today, instead of desperately looking for foreign dole-outs and bailouts. Instead, unfortunately for the people of Pakistan, it has invested far more energy in locking up political prisoners, persecuting pro-democracy activists, undermining civilian institutions, and similar repressive measures. It doesnโ€™t matter how many shuttle missions it undertakes, that sad reality remains.

So much money is being spent on building new hospitals, bridges, flyovers, and underpasses, just in Lahore, many of them named after the CMโ€™s father. And then there are the billions spent on government ads for media seths, with all the focus on glitter and โ€œsurkhi powder.โ€ Yet there seems to be no real care for young and poor children, who are left to the misfortune of the health departmentโ€™s inefficiency and corruption. Imran Khan has been kept in solitary confinement for six months under brutal conditions, while Bushra Bibi is being held the same way. Their freedom is being deliberately blocked by the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, who refuses to fix their bail hearings. Imran Khan has made it clear that the judiciary is no longer independent, it is acting like a tool of the government. Judges assigned to his cases are not delivering justice; they are ensuring hearings never happen. The reality is simple: the moment this case is heard, its weak and baseless nature will be exposed, and bail will become unavoidable. That is exactly why it is being stalled. Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi continued imprisonment is due to Judge Dogar, who is openly facilitating a government that came to power by stealing Imran Khanโ€™s mandate. Through Salman Safdar, Imran Khan has sent a message, his wife is being pushed to the edge by prolonged isolation. He has said he can endure this ุธู„ู… himself, but she is being broken to force him into submission. The pressure is deliberate, calculated, and inhumane. He said clearly โ€œno deal, no surrender! It is liberty or death.โ€
