@BlackDumpling And it is glorious!! I much prefer seeing our new Japanese friends than the South Asian scammers...
Yay Japan!!

@BlackDumpling It truly was a rock and a hard place situation. Between the staunch refusal of the Japanese leaders to surrender and the looming risk of the USSR getting involved, there was little option other than using the atomic bomb.
That fact doesn't make it any less horrific, though.
English

It's easy for Americans like me to discuss this in the abstract when we do, to us it's comparing hypotheticals about what 'might' have happened. For Japanese families, it's not abstract. It's burn scars on grandmothers, stories passed down, generational tragedy. Americans should keep it in mind when we talk about it.
That said, from what I've gathered (and I'm far from a WWII expert), the American perspective has long held that a full ground invasion of the Japan would have been even more catastrophic, for every one.
鍛冶師@kurono_takumi
English

@RichardHopperJr I'm not good at fooling people...
I'm good at fooling myself 😝
English

@BlackDumpling The atomic bombings of Japan were among the darkest days of our nation. As many others have expressed, it was generally preferable to the many magnitudes higher death toll from a ground invasion, yet it still is heartbreaking to think of the civilians.

We are not our great grandfathers, and you are not yours. Their sins and their victories belong to them alone. Today we cherish the friendship we have built with you and I hope my candor has not threatened that in any way.

Letting our Japanese friends know about the thousands of bombings the Leftists perpetrated against American Citizens in the 1970s in order to secure power:

@BlackDumpling The left is a cancer worldwide. We need to cure the planet before it's too late.
English

One thing we're learning is that these Leftist campaigns have a tendency to be international in scope. You *think* they're just targeting your little part of the world when in reality they're doing the exact same thing elsewhere to see what works and what doesn't, constantly testing local defenses, to see what can be used to overcome natural resistance elsehwere.

QUESTION: "My husband (31M) and I (29F) have been married for almost 6 years. I was cleaning the garage yesterday and found a folded piece of paper tucked behind his toolbox.
It was a suicide note.
He wrote it 3 months ago. He wrote about feeling like he failed me, like he was useless, like I deserved better. He wrote that he was sorry for not being enough. He signed it with “I love you. I’m sorry.”
But… he’s still here. He’s alive. He’s laughing with me, watching shows, talking about the future. And I don’t know if I should bring it up.
I’m terrified that if I say something, it will push him closer to it. But I’m even more terrified that if I say nothing, one day I’ll find a letter that isn’t tucked away but left out for me."
ANSWER: You tell him everything, you absolutely gush, you break down, you sob, you drag every ounce of everything you have in you to the surface, you mourn his death directly in front of him.
You leave no emotion unturned.
Very very few suicidal men want to die, but despair has taken hold of them. Sacrificial (Note that word CAREFULLY) despair. Where the only just outcome in their mind is their own end for the "greater good", for some benefit. They value their lives as so expendable, so without value that the best they can do for the ones they love is end it so as to not be an impediment to future happiness, or perhaps go out in such a way that their loved ones financially or socially benefit.
Men are obsessive. They fixate. Don't even get mad at me, you know EXACTLY what I mean. And when they begin to fixate on how the most logical course of action in their life is their own end it spirals. Goes from being a fixation to a self fulfilling prophecy. They become a cult of one just psyching themselves into it, never out of it, waiting for the right moment.
A dreamy calmness comes over them. That's why he's laughing, planning for the future, having a good old time. He doesn't want your last moments with him to be sad, he doesn't want to tip you off or worry you. Chances are he wrote out the letter but kept it to himself so that when, after he lost his life through some accident that paid out well you'd find it, years later, and know the truth.
So the only force against such monstrous despair is Love. Pure Love. Brutal Love. The kind to make the Angels weep.
Prostrate yourself and show him that the entirety of your future is at his mercy. To shock him out of that dream like haze of acceptance of his own end. To show him that the cost of his endless loss amounts for more than any pitiful benefit.
Good luck. Just remember... if ever there was a time for honesty with your man, this is it. Be direct, be honest, and show him that connection, make him see it. Make him feel it because you can be all but assured he feels like he lost it and he's been grasping for it ever since.

Region Locking: This "South Asian" man promotes misery, distrust, and hate in the West for cheap and easy clicks and cash cash.
Region locking payouts would go a long way towards reducing the enshittification this man represents.
Region 1: North America (US, Canada), Western & Northern Europe (EU + UK, Nordics, etc.), Oceania (Australia, NZ), High-income East Asia (Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong).
Region 2: Latin America (Mexico, Central, and South America) & Caribbean
Region 3: Eastern Europe & Central Asia
Region 4: South & Southeast Asia (including India)
Region 5: Middle East & North Africa
Region 6: Sub-Saharan Africa
Further, individual nations or accounts could be approved for both their regions and access to region 1. El Salvador, Poland, and Argentina, for example, are nations that may qualify. High trust accounts could apply for multi-region payout status.
Finally, Region 1 has unrestricted payouts from anyone, but those outside of Region 1 are restricted from payouts from anyone inside Region 1. Meaning Dave in Colorado gets payout from a Like from someone in India, Libya or America, but Evan living in Jamaica only gets payout from those in region 2.
The key here, of course, is that high trust creators outside of Region 1 MUST have a reasonable path to joining Region 1 creators in access to Region 1.
This isn't meant to simply exclude any individual, but instead create a framework that rewards those outside of high trust societies for behaving in a manner that shows they can be let loose in a high trust society.

For my regular American readers you've probably noticed a decided uptick in Japanese Posting. That's not accidental. I believe the message Elon is sending is loud and clear.
The American and Japanese Right must unify because the Chinese, American, EU and Japanese Left already have.
Consequently I want to make it crystal clear to our Japanese friends that their American friends and allies remain such.
The Left is actively working to undermine that alliance and so we must push back.

If China attacked Canada we'd go to war because of national security interests.
If China attacked the EU we'd go to war because of treaties.
If China attacked Japan we'd go to war because you're you. You're our friend. Best we could ever hope for.
When we were little we played Japanese games, when we were teens we watched your anime and read your stories, when we were adults we fell in love with the rest of your culture and your people.
And we felt that love and friendship right back. Please, never think otherwise.
English

I asked the Japanese what China is to them and consider my mind blown.
This cultural exchange is providing insights, genuine insights.
I mean beyond the BBQ memes and the jokes and the friendliness. There's something very real hidden just underneath the surface.
For example, did you know that there may have been Chinese people posing as Americans shaming the Japanese for Fukushima? Do I know it was the Chinese? No, but you're an American.. have you ever, in your entire life, heard an American speak down to or about the Japanese in regards to Fukushima?
Those Americans who are old enough to remember it simply think of it as a natural disaster. A bad thing happening to good people. That's just how the world is sometimes. But apparently in the years since, people claiming to be Americans have been attacking the Japanese on social media in the most cruel and unkind ways. Blaming them for polluting the waters, killing all those people, and causing the disasters and so on and so forth. Just truly evil things being said to the Japanese.
Ask yourself have YOU ever heard any American you know talk like that? Ever? At all? Your entire life? Especially about Fukushima? But apparently there's been a brutal multi year campaign in Japan of concerned "Americans" saying just that for the express purpose of shaming the Japanese over a natural disaster.
Something doesn't add up.
And that's my point. YOU, being an American, didn't know about any of this, did you? It wasn't until I read a translated Japanese tweet talking about how much it had hurt them, the public shaming that I started to look into it. I had no idea either.
I bet it never even occurred to any of you that people abroad were posing as Americans to them to promote hatred against us for things we not only never said or did, but things we never even thought.
If you're Japanese and reading this please believe me when I tell you no American I've met has ever said anything like this. The Japanese were disciplined, brilliant, resourceful, and above all brave in the face of one of the worst natural disasters in modern history. It was an impossible situation and you handled yourselves with valor and honor and we respect you deeply for it.
