@ManifestHistory It depends on your level of knowledge of the word. My preference when reading through the Bible is to alternate Old Testament book then New Testament book

I’ve finally decided to read the entire bible. So far, I’ve read Genesis and Exodus. I’m obviously really interested in reading the Gospels and New Testament. I’m debating skipping ahead to the Gospels. What do you recommend I do: Read the bible from front to back or skip ahead and read the Gospels (or entire New Testament) and then go back to the Old Testament.

I see we are arguing the responsibility of who killed Christ on Easter. How very social media. The mob, stirred up by the chief priests and elders, demanded crucifixion in exchange for Barabbas the thief, and finally Pilate washed his hands of it. The high priests facilitated the death of Christ. Fact. The Romans carried it out by law. Fact. The pitchfork mob, insisted on all of it, cheered it on, and mocked Him. Fact, It was a dark day, no one wants “their team” to be responsible for killing the Son of God, however it was also predestined that Jesus die to atone for the sins of believers so that we may have eternal life. Today we celebrate Easter and because everyone, Jew and gentile, played their role, He is Risen.

@thekyleyates I fully agree that neither of the US Political parties align fully with scripture. There’s one party that is a diametrically opposed to scripture and one that has some overlap with scripture. For me as a born again believer that used to divide my vote the choice is now clear.

Following Jesus means your political tribe will never be His tribe. And that's by design. Jesus came to interrupt our categories, not embody them. If your faith always lines up perfectly with your politics, you might be following the wrong thing.
