@JoeGoodberry Guessing positional value is the reason. If you’re an elite athlete, why choose the position with smaller salary ceiling? Bulk up and be an edge rusher instead.

@willie_lutz Yep. Safeties have gotten better and more dynamic and edge rushers have become smaller and better in coverage.
