Fight anti-democratic corporate power over politics. Don't believe US-UK Iraq WMD liars when they lie about China. https://t.co/G1M3soQpkV

Truth-bombs for the PM. After publicly expressing support for the US-Israel war against Iran and the war on Gaza — in which tens of thousands have been killed — PM Albanese walks into the Muslim community in Sydney’s Lakemba. “Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke have been booed and heckled at a mosque in Western Sydney. “Worshippers could be heard shouting "genocide supporters", "get them out of here" and "go home" before Albanese was led out of the mosque.” #live-blog-post-273556" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">abc.net.au/news/2026-03-2…

Just In: One Nation Senator Pauline Hanson tells Sky News that Australia should help the United States of America if called on by President Trump. “If we're close allies with them, then you stand united together to stamp out the evil that is happening throughout the world”. She went onto explain why dealing with the threat of radical Islam is also Australia's problem. “Trump is trying to get rid of the radicalism throughout the world, and (the Albanese government) think that it's not our problem." “It is our problem because we're taking in refugees from all around Gaza and from these countries (in the region)."

Breaking: Wild scenes at Lakemba Mosque. @AlboMP and @Tony_Burke threatened by worshippers. Their bodyguards - only wearing socks - visibly nervous. The speaker attacks the government, @PaulineHansonOz and refers to Gaza with no mention of October 7.

The US-Australia relationship is in good hands. Members of the US House of Representatives, both Republican and Democrat, were essential in securing the legislation to lock in AUKUS. Now we’re in full implementation mode — and there’s a great future ahead.

The @ANZ_AU branch in Robinvale was closed in 2023, leaving customers to drive 200km to do their banking. This week Robinvale ran out of fuel. No one should have to leave their town to access an essential service like banking. @JEChalmers @mattjcan @RennickGBR @DarrenChesterMP

Australia stands with the brave people of Iran in their struggle against oppression. For decades, the Iranian regime has been a destabilising force, through its ballistic missile and nuclear programs, support for armed proxies, and brutal acts of violence and intimidation. Iran directed at least two attacks on Australian soil in 2024. These appalling acts targeting Australia’s Jewish community were intended to create fear, divide our society and challenge our sovereignty. In response, Australia took the unprecedented steps of expelling Iran’s Ambassador, suspending operations at our embassy in Tehran, and listing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a state sponsor of terrorism. Our Government has sanctioned more than 200 Iranian-linked individuals, including more than 100 linked to the IRGC. With international partners, including the United States and the G7, we have called for the Iranian regime to uphold the human rights and fundamental freedoms of Iran’s citizens. These calls have gone unheeded. Instead, the regime has instigated a brutal crackdown on its own people leaving thousands of Iranian civilians dead. A regime that relies on the repression and murder of its own people to retain power is without legitimacy. It has long been recognised that Iran’s nuclear program is a threat to global peace and security. The international community has been clear that the Iranian regime can never beallowed to develop a nuclear weapon. The United Nations Security Council has reimposed sanctions on Iran for failing to comply with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and the International Atomic Energy Agency Board has formally declared Iran in non-compliance with its non-proliferation safeguards obligations. We support the United States acting to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and to prevent Iran continuing to threaten international peace and security. Australian officials are closely monitoring this evolving situation. We continue to advise Australians do not travel to Iran and leave Iran as soon as possible, if it is safe to do so. Our ability to provide consular assistance in Iran is extremely limited. Given our concerns around security in the region, we have also upgraded Australia’s travel advice for Israel and Lebanon to Do Not Travel. Australians should leave now if it is safe to do so. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has activated its Crisis Centre to provide consular support to Australians in the region. Australians requiring urgent consular assistance can contact the Consular Emergency Centre 24/7 on 1300 555 135 in Australia or +61 2 6261 3305 from outside Australia.

The opportunities in artificial intelligence are immense, and Australia is making the investment for the next wave with a National AI Plan. Great to chat with Jared Cohen, co-head of the Goldman Sachs Global Institute about where the industry is headed, and how America and Australia can work together to get there.

Teeth gnashing about Larijani ignores the biggest goddamn elephant bearing down on everyone in the room: The man was the chief architect of January's massacre, which killed an estimated 30,000 unarmed civilians in a few brief days. The idea that he could act as a pragmatic interlocutor after this is fanciful.

So let me get this straight: Iran blocking the Strait of Hormuz is ,unfair’ but blocking oil shipments to Cuba in order to collapse their whole country is what? Fair?
