1933: Americans had to sell gold to Fed @ price of $20.67/oz (tho not jewelry)
1934: Gold Reserve Act transferred all gold ownership to US Treasury (revalued @ $35/oz devaluing $ + raising value of the Treasury's reserves)

Good morning.
The US Treasury is supposed to release its Monthly Treasury Statement at 2pm on the 8th business day of each month. We are now on the 13th business day of October and have still not received last month's report. No explanation or estimation, complete radio silence.

Follow up question: how can Treasuries be the “most liquid collateral” in the world if they *must* be held to maturity?
If you can’t sell them without a 50% mark-to-market loss, they aren’t truly liquid collateral.

I’d like the world to note that under Bill Di Blasio I didn’t step in human shit once on a subway platform nor did a car or motorcycle of mine get stolen off the street. Both those things have happened under Eric Adams. Real heads know I’m right.
