Mikel Arteta was incredibly keen on bringing Sesko to North London. However, Manchester United’s sporting director, Christopher Vivell, played a massive wildcard role, using his long-standing personal relationship with Šeško from his time at the Red Bull group. That executive connection, paired with the promise of being the undisputed focal point of United's rebuild, heavily influenced Šeško and his camp. He ultimately chose the €85 million move to Old Trafford. Once the Šeško path closed, Arsenal aggressively focused their attention on Viktor Gyökeres. Unlike the complications with the Slovenian's camp, Gyokeres made it clear he preferred a move to the Emirates to play under Arteta's tactical system. 📸 Everyone wrote us off going into the season. If we had sacked Amorim earlier we would’ve have won the league or come very close to winning it. This is progress and I can confidently say we are int the right direction 📈

@RodinSimi You just answered your own question there 🤷🏻‍♂️ Mainoo was never awful. He just didn’t play. Since he’s been playing he has been fantastic and was well worth the selection.

If Thomas Tuchel selected players based on their contribution during the qualifiers, then why was Kobbie Mainoo included? He was largely out of the picture for most of the campaign and has only shown top form for a few months. He has been playing in a chaotic Manchester United side with no clear playing style apart from counter-attacks and long balls to Bruno Fernandes. Cole Palmer deserved a place in the World Cup squad. Players like Marcus Rashford have spent most of the season on the bench at FC Barcelona, while Anthony Gordon has struggled with injuries recently. Even Bukayo Saka has not done enough for England lately to justify being selected ahead of Palmer. At this point, I just hope the R16 is the furthest England go in the World Cup.

Don’t worry about Arsenal’s project? 😂 For 3 straight seasons people said: “Arteta bottled his best chance.” “Arsenal won’t come back.” “Top 4 is the best he can do” “Finished.” Yet Arsenal kept improving and ended up winning the league. Meanwhile Chelsea’s “project” changes manager every few months, spent a billion pounds, were “title contenders” in November… and still finished 23 points behind Arsenal 😭 Premier League had EIGHT European spots available and you still couldn’t make it. That’s genuinely impressive. Spend some time concentrating on Chelsea project and while you’re at it… Ask Blue Co. to stop playing FM and actually build a team

@falklandstim Mainoo has been good since Carrick tool over, which 16 months, he has been good for approximately 5 months, he has been awful before that under Amorin or rather say he never played football under Amorin

@RodinSimi Mainoo has been fantastic. You obviously have not been watching any football this last 16 months. You need to get your Chelsea specs off. Palmer is a great player but has been way off and injured. He has also been part of a “chaotic” Chelsea team.

🚨🎙️Martinez on Facing Mo Salah in the premier league. 🗣️| With Jokes and rivalry Aside, Mo Salah is the best ever winger I’ve ever face in my career. His ability on the ball is beyond impressive and it’s very hard to guess his next move cause he can do anything with ball by scoring or giving an assist. The toughest player I’ve ever face with no doubts, his pace and dribble is what makes him special and when you play against such incredible players you learn much as a defender and improve next time.
