@graziacarlos @RubyQNUFC There are still England flags on the lampposts in my home town from when the local right wing thugs put them up. These days they resemble racism & hatred, not national pride. A home flying an England flag makes me afraid that there’s a bigot living there, not a football fan

The World Cup starts today and I have seen barely any England flags around. Much less than usual anyway. We have allowed social media and political debate to change the meaning of the flag and that is extremely sad. Every other country in the world is proud of where they’re from and what the flag represents. We need to reclaim that. That’s why I’ll be hanging up an England flag in my window throughout the World Cup. It has nothing to do with politics or immigration, it’s simply a way of showing support for the country I love. Now come on England, bring it home! 🏆
