Still trying to figure out where this art piece glorifies violence. For all we know this could be made by a MAGA teen making a statement about how people depict Trump. Has anyone asked the artist?

There are no good stats on this but anecdotally, I’ve met an alarming number of people who were sexually abused by their fathers/older brothers in the evangelical homeschooling world. Probably at least 20% if I had to guess. Not a shock as to why: Patriarchal family structure. Any frank discussions around sex are taboo, and the kids are really naive about it and often don’t realize what’s happening to them or that it isn’t normal, even at an age when they probably should. They usually don’t have friends outside of their church or access to adults they could confide in who aren’t friends/relatives of their parents. Often don’t have unmonitored internet access, either, which would allow them to google this stuff and figure out what’s going on/what to do about it. Basically the perfect environment for a child predator to operate. It’s incredibly fucked up and sad.

I just wonder if Roberts has any kids or even likes sports. Look-- right wing strategy is clearly PART of this. Like any movement, they looked for areas where their position had support, and sports was one of them. But that support was preexisting, from parents and sports fans.

@w283790251 @dilanesper No, I have two daughters in elementary school. They are just getting to the age where sports are gender segregated but my older daughter has been in the 99th percentile for height and weight her whole life so we’ve had some ugly comments directed towards her about fairness.

@RyMB @dilanesper Do you have any kids that compete at high school? My son is middle of the pack in the elite waves in HS and in women's he'd win ever race. My daughter would be pissed & demoralized if she was racing against his caliber. The injustice would get attention.
