Qual seria o seu all time Spurs apenas com jogadores que você gosta? sem ligar pro histórico O meu: Tony Parker Manu Ginobilli Wembanyama Tim Duncan David Robinson 6man: DeRozan
English

@DevonBirdsong People tend to forget that in 2003 Tony was benched for Speedy fucking Claxton in playoff crunch time situations. Thats like if Stephon Castle got benched for Tre Jones in big moments.

One of the strongest arguments for Duncan's defensive gravity (and for the greatness of his career) is that he thwarted the Kobe-Shaq Lakers almost alone.
They were coming off a 3-peat and he beat them, with (respectfully) the shadow of David Robinson and very green versions of Parker and Manu.
And he came within one supremely unlucky (badly clock-timed) shot of doing it again, without Robinson, against a Lakers attempt at a super-team.

"How much credit should Duncan get for them funneling players to him in the paint." All the credit??? They did that cause he was insane
English

@fvckmygen @Unnecessary_Zae @mtvsthewrld_ Oh and duh, my favorite lost old school fun guy. I miss Kevin Willis.
English

@fvckmygen @Unnecessary_Zae @mtvsthewrld_ Nah plenty of guys could do both back in the day. Timmy, Jermaine O’Neal, Ben Wallace and then some did just fine. Shit as long as you weren’t playing Shaq or Yao you didn’t really have to worry about getting bulldozed that day and KG ran some damn good minutes at center in Minny
English

Swear to god if he had a singular ounce of swag we would not even be having these debates
SEC, UECL, and CWC Champions@IOnlySayFacts
Kevin Garnett my ass
English

@datboypharaoh @mtvsthewrld_ It’s either him or MJ for worst dressed GOAT.
English

@RyanT89 @mtvsthewrld_ Jean shorts with leather sandals? Tim
Duncan was getting style by Jesus evil twin
English

@Bob4Florida @JahlilWill Probably if he got his own franchise from day 1 but he was a sixth man and sidekick for most of it so he never could put that on his resume.
English

@Jubbitie @Unnecessary_Zae @mtvsthewrld_ No he was a PF in his era. If Tim was an anomaly, yeah, but given so many other teams did that, no. Nowadays the PF is basically just a slightly bigger SF but given the nature of the role and the position they’re still power forwards but no one says they’re “running double wings”
English

@RyanT89 @Unnecessary_Zae @mtvsthewrld_ So what you’re saying is he was a centre, the Spurs just ran double big
English

@AynTalleyrand @usr_bin_roygbiv @ExistentialEnso And Gen X. My dad and his friends had all done at least one Civ run.
English

@usr_bin_roygbiv @ExistentialEnso Do Zoomers even play CIV? Civ is elder millennial codes
English

@Unnecessary_Zae @mtvsthewrld_ Sampson was slotted at PF even though both of them are in fact centers but if Sampson had Timmy’s resume he’d be the goat PF. Up until the pace and space era a PF was either another center or a big 6-9 guy that would fight you.
English

@RyanT89 @mtvsthewrld_ Well…yeah. Pop found success using the twin tower method. They are—in fact—centers. Are Hakeem or Sampson PFs?
English

@Unnecessary_Zae @mtvsthewrld_ Right right but who was he usually next to? It was usually another guy his size with some exceptions like Malik Rose, Antonio McDyess, and Boris Diaw when he played center center. If he’s out there with Splitter, Oberto, Nazr Mohammed, or Nesterovic they’re both the center.
English

@RyanT89 @mtvsthewrld_ Duncan played 2/3 of his career minutes as a Center…
English

@Unnecessary_Zae @mtvsthewrld_ Every team back then basically started two centers and called the slightly smaller one a power forward so Timmy was a PF. If you’re going by that then KG, Jermaine O’Neal, Sheed, Pau Gasol, Elton Brand, and probably Dirk are all centers.
English

@mtvsthewrld_ What i don’t understand is the point of this comparison. Dirk’s the greatest PF and Duncan’s a center. Pop said this forever ago
English

@dlee4three @BobbyJinSen Shaq rag dolling people really ruins this point.
English

@GloryMoa @jjmaples55 I can’t think of another fan base that attempts to make the most physically dominant player of all time that was the best player on his team sound like a glorified lob center who that vehemently denies what their GOAT is bad (Shooting in the finals) at more than Kobe fans.
English

@jjmaples55 It’s funny how Kobe’s fans the only fanbase that are “mentally unwell” but every other players fanbase and LeBron fans are perfectly normal people who do no wrong
English

@Michael23243 @jjmaples55 Tim had a bag. Tim had the best classic big man bag outside of Hakeem and Kevin McHale but big man bags that don’t involve a dream shake or Shaq rag dolling people are boring to casuals. Shit, Kareem is at worst the third best player of all time but no one cares bc he was boring.
English

@jjmaples55 It’s always been there. He’s a humble dude that wasn’t flashy and to some fans no bag = no skill.
English

@jjmaples55 I’m already warning Nuggets fans to be prepared to get annoyed reading comments about Jokic when he retires after Gens Alpha and Beta forget about him because rappers that have Lil in their names or the next Justin Bieber never mention him because Jokic hates attention
English

@_MontyBurnham_ @JahlilWill Yeah so I think any KG>Timmy argument is inherently silly. I remember Tim beating Shaqobe and winning a title with a done Admiral, Jack, a rookie Manu, and a young Tony Parker that had to be benched for Speedy fucking Claxton in crucial playoff moments. I can’t see KG doing that.
English

@RyanT89 @JahlilWill He did need saving from Sam and Spree in the only 2 playoff series he actually ever won in Minnesota in 12 seasons…that’s not good either
