There is a problem with your thesis though. Voters are not registered to a party in Texas.
Texas is an open primary state which means anyone can freely choose and vote in either the Democrat or Republican primary.
So Republicans can absolutely be voting in Democrat primaries or vice versa to ensure that certain candidates do not make it to the general election.
Being an open primary state, when Texans vote in a party primary, their party choice is recorded in their voter file. So they may not be registered with a party, but the state counts will include them as either a democrat or republican depending on how they voted.
The data that .org websites that is provided is really all fabricated. Like these
Total Registered Voters: 17,485,702
Democrats: 8,133,683 (46.52%)
Republicans: 6,601,189 (37.75%)
Unaffiliated: 2,750,830 (15.73%)
But the states election results are no where near any of those numbers above.
