@memeslich Baldur's Gate 3 is still one of the few games this generation I ejioyed playing or would ever replay again. Easily the best modern CRPG we've had in ages.

Something that I noticed after watching fan restored copies of the original theatrical Star Wars trilogy was that I stopped doing a mental countdown to each and every Special Edition "enhancement" that was added to the films, good or bad. Because no matter how hard I tried to accept the changes, I was never able to settle in and just "watch Star Wars" or Empire or Jedi. No, even if I was enjoying several scenes that *hadn't* been tampered with my mind was always braced for the next upcoming change. "Here come the dewbacks...now CG Mos Eisley, oh there's the neat Falcon lift-off and now we're back to the original spaceship models." And so on. My brain is even hardwired to know what *year* each individual update was made! And I can't help but notice even when actively trying not to. "1977 cantina, oh there's the two new patrons from 1997, now 'Maclunkey' from 2019, now the 2004 Jabba, back to 1977 Star Destroyers" and so on. It's the same with Empire and Jedi. The constant mental whiplash is all over the place, sometimes mere seconds apart (like the end celebration in Jedi bouncing between 1983 footage and 1997 planets intertwined with the 2004 Hayden and "Weesa free".) I even like the new song that attempts to link it all together, but the visual back and forth is just so all over the place. And I just don't get that when I go back to the original versions. I can settle in and simply watch Star Wars. Then The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. I get to be a kid watching those films again, or a teen, or just a lifelong lover of the films watching a consistent artistic experience from beginning to end and I'm able to get caught up in the excitement and drama without jarring reminders of George Lucas' meddling every few minutes.

Yeah, the "woke" conversation is just the tip of the iceberg. We all know it's not the deciding aspect of a franchise's success or failure. The creative foundation is rotten to the core. Modern films largely don't hold basic scrutiny and their creators hide behind "tolerance" bs.

It was never a homogeneous, midnless "followers" Disney wanted to turn every fan into, and comply with their "gender, race, sexuality" obsessed garbage. Fuck Sequels and Disney Star Wawrs. They are made by parasites who called George Lucas' saga "sexist" and slurred vocal fans for criticizing their drivel. You are free to love what you love, no one is stopping you. But if you are a mega fan and have a pulse on the "modern audience" SW you would face the music and realize vast majority of fans have moved on. It wasn't Sequels' quality but how retarded Disney treated its fans that killed Star Wars.

As a mega @starwars fan i credit the franchise for changing my life as it inspired me to become a screenwriter and businessman. I hate it when ‘fans’ generalise the fanbase as not every fan hates the sequel trilogy just a small percentage of fans not the whole fanbase.

And any serious movie fan sees that "wokeness" is just a veneer they hide behind. The root of the problem is - the same corporate Hollywood Coppola, Lucas, and Spielberg had fought against in the 70's has taken over again. They have no business telling writers and filmmakers how to make cinema. Instead they fired everyone and replaced them with dumb college grads and AI to make coveyor belt "entertainment".

@SWT_Channel ✅ strongly agree we will never see major epics like kingdom of Heaven , Troy , gladiator , Lord of the Rings, and the Hobbit now all the DEI points have to checked off on the DEI check off before the movie can be made

@KevinLamb74 Hehe, I definitely didn't scour every detail but as a kid I remember feeling robbed of having a full view of the city. I always wondered why was it full of sterile looking corridors and not enough windows. I feel no remorse or shame of enjoying that tweak to this day. 😂

Even the CGI expansions on Cloud City were half-assed though. Like that wall that was opened up to show a large window with an outdoor elevator going by. Then Han and the others walk down that short staircase and open the door to Vader's dining hall. Cut back to Han and we see stormtroopers gathering at the top of the stairs, but the window and elevator behind them are magically gone and it's the original wall again.
