And this is not about policing anyone’s language. It’s about providing a coherent analysis to US foreign policy dominated by neocons and pro-interventionist libs. It would be ridiculous to claim the “zog” is starving Cuba.

This is correct. The US & Israel share interests, which is misinterpreted as Israel dictating US policy. The Iran war stems from the same imperial motivations as the regime change op in Venezuela & the coming war on Cuba. Trump literally talks about taking Venezuela & Iran’s oil.
Adam Johnson@adamjohnsonCHI

Ok but Trump is asking Congress for $200 billion not Israel. Clearly Israel seeks the same outcome, and AIPAC et al will push Congress for the funding, but it’s very strange how Trump is repeatedly presented as a passive observer to his own war of choice

If Mullin is confirmed, it would make Bernie Moreno the new dumbest guy in the Senate.

Lmao Sean O'Brien seated right behind Markwayne Mullin. I'm guessing in support of his nomination. What a scumbag.

@drypeekgoblin I am “recognizing” it for what it is… a fascist who is trying to cut his losses.

@SamSacks I don't think the guy is a saint by any means, but the action he's taken here is worth recognizing imo, in hopes that it may motivate more people to take some kind of a stand.

Kent applauded Trump’s assassination of Soleimani and had no problems with regime change in Venezuela. He didn’t resign right after the war started because he believed, like everyone else in the admin, that they could win a quick war against Iran. He was wrong, now he’s fleeing.

He’s opposed to the wars abroad because he wants the U.S. security state more focused on rounding up leftists at home.

I’m glad this guy resigned because it’s embarrassing as hell for the administration, especially people like Vance and Gabbard who, like Kent, claimed to oppose these illegal wars. But we don’t need to do another round of pat the fascist on the back for doing the bare minimum.

The claim here is that neocons in the two most recent Republican Presidential administrations were simply deceived by Israel into going to war in Iraq, Syria, and now Iran, which is not accurate at all.
Joe Kent@joekent16jan19

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.

@snackvampire You really think that’s why Bush and Cheney invaded Iraq?

I’m sure this guy is definitely interested in liberation for Palestinians, and isn’t just taking positions out of temporary political expediency.

Do these people not realize every time they say stuff like this they’re broadcasting to everyone how stupid they are and how easily they can be co-opted?

Obviously the war is an illegal death drive so who cares if they didn’t have an actual plan to “win it” but it’s pretty funny they’re pretending they did, and it’s just the President of the United States begging other countries’ naval forces to do something about it.

@yaaghimir I disagree with your limited definition that I’m guessing you’re cribbing from Finkelstein. And I’m not saying antisemitism is the most pressing issue in the US. It’s not even close.

@SamSacks In the US, antisemitism deserves the same level of concern as anti Irish sentiment. By every objective measure (schooling, housing, employment opportunities) it does not exist. If you want to extend antisemitism to encompass feelings then antizionism also counts.

It’s impossible to deny there is rising anti-semitism (alongside other hate). It’s almost entirely a problem on the right. To the extent it exists on the left, it’s mostly from losers trying to get attention online. Zionists share most of the blame for creating these conditions.
