@RepJoshG @AOC It has something to do with the genocide, not the Jews you fuck.

I’m confused. Defensive military aid stops rockets aimed at innocent children and families. So, why oppose it? We provide defensive military aid to Ukraine, Taiwan, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Kenya, etc. @AOC Should we cut all of them off? Or is that your policy just for the Jews?
Peter Sterne@petersterne

BREAKING: At tonight’s NYC-DSA electoral forum, @AOC committed to voting against “any spending on arms for Israel, including so-called defensive capabilities.”

Agree with Finklestein here, the idea that Israel tricked the US into war with Iran (or, previously, Iraq) is ridiculous

I remember when VAR was introduced in the premier league and for a few games it added this “exciting” new element. Fast forward a few years later and it’s sucked out the life of the game. You can’t even celebrate goals anymore. Gonna be the same with strike outs/walks.

@HBendaas @shaabiranks @alexbkane I think the claim that there's a US foreign policy driven by neocons (Cuba, Venezuela), and a different one driven exclusively by Israel (Iran, Iraq, Syria) is unnecessarily complicating. It's all the same. And Israel has its own interests that it lobbies for quite successfully.

@HBendaas @shaabiranks @alexbkane Seems obvious to me the war isn't going to plan and we're moving up the escalation ladder leading to broader targets. But oil companies will absolutely benefit from higher prices.

@HBendaas @shaabiranks @alexbkane Not really... The goal is installing governments friendly to US capitalists. It's been the same strategy for 75 years. Admin officials and neocons are open about this in interviews today about Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, etc.

@shaabiranks @alexbkane Pretty easy to blame Israel, as well as US imperial forces and the US President who keeps talking about finding an Iranian Delcy Rodriguez to steal the oil & is directly profiting off the market chaos caused by his war of choice (that no other US president was willing to make).

@alexbkane In some ways yes, in some ways no, the point is it doesn’t fucking matter because *right now we are destroying the global economy for Israel* at a time when skepticism of the US-Israel relationship is at an all time high. This is the worst possible intervention to make!

And this is not about policing anyone’s language. It’s about providing a coherent analysis to US foreign policy dominated by neocons and pro-interventionist libs. It would be ridiculous to claim the “zog” is starving Cuba.

This is correct. The US & Israel share interests, which is misinterpreted as Israel dictating US policy. The Iran war stems from the same imperial motivations as the regime change op in Venezuela & the coming war on Cuba. Trump literally talks about taking Venezuela & Iran’s oil.
Adam Johnson@adamjohnsonCHI

Ok but Trump is asking Congress for $200 billion not Israel. Clearly Israel seeks the same outcome, and AIPAC et al will push Congress for the funding, but it’s very strange how Trump is repeatedly presented as a passive observer to his own war of choice

If Mullin is confirmed, it would make Bernie Moreno the new dumbest guy in the Senate.

Lmao Sean O'Brien seated right behind Markwayne Mullin. I'm guessing in support of his nomination. What a scumbag.

@SamSacks I don't think the guy is a saint by any means, but the action he's taken here is worth recognizing imo, in hopes that it may motivate more people to take some kind of a stand.

Kent applauded Trump’s assassination of Soleimani and had no problems with regime change in Venezuela. He didn’t resign right after the war started because he believed, like everyone else in the admin, that they could win a quick war against Iran. He was wrong, now he’s fleeing.
