@LiliMoldov @KurtSupeCPA No because with a backdoor Roth, the $8,000 into the IRA was non-deductible. Then moving the $8,000 to the Roth IRA is non-taxable

@KurtSupeCPA I am missing something here. Since he makes so much money, is this high earner paying 37% fed income tax on the rollover?

A 52-year-old executive tries the "Backdoor Roth" strategy. Income: $385,000 Can't contribute to Roth IRA directly. He does this: Contributes $8,000 to Traditional IRA Converts to Roth Thinks he's done. But here's what he forgot: He has $180,000 sitting in a Rollover IRA from an old 401(k). The IRS pro-rata rule applies to ALL Traditional IRAs combined. His math: Total Traditional IRA: $188,000 ($180K + $8K contribution) Taxable portion: 95.7%Tax on "tax-free" conversion: $2,450 He thought he'd found a tax-free loophole. Instead he created a $2,450 tax bill. The fix Roll the $180,000 Rollover IRA into current 401(k) BEFORE doing the conversion. This clears the pro-rata calculation and makes the Backdoor Roth work properly. Cost of the mistake: $2,450 in unnecessary taxes This is not personalized financial, tax, or legal advice. Please consult a qualified professional regarding your specific situation. This is a hypothetical example for illustrative and educational purposes only.

@AlexForbesOps For the 2023 year, GM switched to the LZ0 3.0 Duramax engine. That was a big upgrade over the previous model LM2. Haven't had any issues with the LZ0. Definitely worth looking at a used Yukon with the LZ0 Duramax

With 2 kids and multiple road trips per year, we’re ready to upgrade my wife to a family hauler. She loves Yukons. Dream car for her. It’s time for her to have one but I don’t want to break the bank. I know these 6.2s have some issues but these things are still all over the roads. Would you be concerned with a 2022 with 65,000 miles? This is from a local dealer where she has always gotten her cars from.

The final results confirm the preliminary results of metastasized cancer, which is stage 4 cancer. Based on my situation, it looks like I have somewhere between 6 months and 4 years to go. “Get busy living or get busy dying”. I choose to live and will be looking at all options!
Big E@ian693

Well, preliminary results are that the cancer metastasized and I won’t be eligible for a liver transplant. We’ll know for sure next week when the final results come out. I’ll do whatever needs to be done for the cancer, but I may be on my retirement tour with the liver issues.😞

One year ago tonight was a rough one. I stayed the night with my brother at the hospital and he was so sick. He had tubes in him and couldn't really talk. All he did was moan all night. Neither of us sleep much. It was a horrible feeling to watch him suffer like that at the end. He is in a better place now, but as the one year anniversary of his passing is near, it all just still really sucks.
Ryan Detrick, CMT@RyanDetrick

I haven't mentioned this on here yet, but my brother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer back in May. We've brought in hospice and he isn't doing well. I'm sitting next to him at the hospital right now and just wanted to ask for some 🙏 for him. Cancer sucks.

For Active Duty/Vets. Husqvarna sent me a stack of chainsaws to give away since a bear stole mine & Internet went wild. I’m adding a 4 day/3 nt stay to one of my Smoky Mtn cabins. Indoor Pool or Insane Views. To enter (100% free, no purchase necessary): 1) Follow @BowTiedBroke 2) Comment on THIS post with literally anything (tag friends = extra luck with the dartboard later 👀) Contest runs exactly 48 hours —-> closes Thanksgiving Day at 6:15 PM EST. 3) You DO NOT have to be a vet, but the prize must go to a vet or active duty service member. Upon announcing this giveaway I had many people comment, "My husband is a vet and doesn't have X, my dad is a vet, my son is active duty, etc". That is fine. The final winner must designate the vet/active duty member and that person MUST be present for the vacation cabin stay. At close, Grok (or a random comment picker app if Grok has a meltdown) will instantly pick 20 random commenters with accounts older than 3 months. Then, I put those 20 names on a dartboard, film one throw, and THAT person wins everything. No bots, no BS, fully transparent. The 20 random are chosen, I post here and the dart decides destiny. 🎯 Sorry international followers (not that I have that many) U.S. followers only for this one. Cabin is in Tennessee, chainsaws are heavy, and bears don’t do passports. Let’s go! Drop a reply and let’s see who the Chainsaw stealing bear chooses.

@BuffaloRon Ron, I know my farm & ranch buddies in Montana could put them to good use this winter. Thinking they could tear the liner out and use a different liner glove inside.

So, we have a problem here, and need some advice. We bought out all of Midwest gloves bison leather US production when they closed the shop there. Got a bunch of these "Vellux lined" XL gloves, and whatever Vellux is, it has a fleece stuff that seems to stretch and tear, it has a fabric backing that doesn't, but the fleece stuff looks like hell after even one or two wearings. The leather is really nice, and they are a very comfortable glove. I think I have $44 or so invested per pair... Got any ideas what to do?
