Been off Twitter and just read @McIlroyRory’s tweet. I like Rory a lot and LOVE watching him pound 350 yd. drives w/8.5 seconds of hang time.
But I disagree w/his take for several reasons.
1. When he’s talking about “elite pros,” he’s only talking about elite males. I don’t think this will be a positive move for the women’s game and its desire/need to attract new fans.
2. Players like Rory shouldn’t be hitting 460cc drivers called “Stealth” with a sweet spot the size of a quarter.
3. Lastly, and I’ve said this for years… The golf ball doesn’t go too far. It goes too straight.
