Not sure if this picture was exactly for this but this sort of thing was very real. This is something that black Americans specifically went through that no Indian or Paki or Honduran or Puerto Rican or whatever other brown dealt with. Why black Americans would not only allow but support the tethering to their history and unique story that brown migrants seem to love doing is a question I’ve yet to get a clear answer to. There are only few groups of people that should be at the table when discussing racial tensions of America. If your family got here after 1965 I do not want to hear it. You have no say or voice whatsoever here. You chose this place or your parents did so take it up with your own decision making or your parents but not us. This is the most fair society to have ever existed and there’s just no convo to even be had about immigrants and the struggles they face due to their race in America.

ADOS is a false concept. There were no enslaved Americans in the United States during slavery. Only enslaved Africans and their future descendants.
FBA (Foundational Black American) is a false concept. I (like many other African Americans) can STILL trance our ancestors and roots back to parts of West Africa. My own roots go back into modern day: Ghana 🇬🇭 Nigeria 🇳🇬 Liberia 🇱🇷 Togo 🇹🇬 Benin 🇧🇯 Mali 🇲🇱 Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 Cameroon 🇨🇲 Angola 🇦🇴 and Namibia 🇳🇦. These people were trafficked out of Africa and brought to the United States to parts of Maryland (my home state) and Virginia.
That’s not foundational. That’s proof of my ancestors strength and resilience that helped them endure and survive the brutality of Slavery here in the United States. AFRICAN STRENGTH!! ✊🏿🌍
The next generation of American born Blacks in the next 100 or 200 years might be “Foundational” but this current generation sure isn’t. It’s just the facts.

The anti-black rhetoric these NBA players have shown toward the city of Memphis have been wild to watch.
A lot of them don’t understand the history here or the richness that comes from this city. Unfortunately, much of that legacy gets overlooked, and now Memphis carries a stigma because of… we know what.
Hearing someone like LeBron, a global figure who came from humble beginnings similar to many kids in this city say those words is really disappointing.
I honestly think the team may end up relocating soon. I’m trying to mentally prepare myself for that.
