This is especially detrimental to those who start school already at-risk for academic failure. These kids will be college-age in 2030-2032. Will they be #collegeready? This is not just a #k12 problem. #Colleges & #universities need to be concerned too. #OpenSchoolsPlease!

As an #educationalpsychologist, I fear the long-term ramifications of #closedschools & wonder how large our achievement gap will get. Kids in K-2 in 2020 in many districts will not have had adequate instruction in #reading & #writing which forms the basis for later learning.
