While arguing in favor of SB26-062, one of the sponsors said, “I don't know what things look like in the world of rodenticides or anything else in the pesticide world”. We saw how this turned out with wolves, and now we'll see how it turns out with rodents.

My bill SB26-60: “Alyssa’s Act”, passed unanimously out of committee today. This bill will add a mental health component to coach training on concussion protocols. It will also make it so that parents are notified of potential emotional changes after head injuries.

UPDATE on SB-097, the pro-prostitution bill: As of today, SB-097 is officially dead. We are grateful to all the Coloradans who made their voices heard and joined us in the fight to stop this legislation. We sent a clear message to the majority: our state does not need to be the guinea pig for statewide prostitution that is associated with higher levels of human trafficking and would bring brothels into neighborhoods, school districts, and other vulnerable areas. #copolitics

SB26-043 on regulating the sale of firearm barrels passed the Senate today. Before the vote, I spoke on how I and my district feel about this kind of bill. Unfortunately, we were one vote short of getting his bill stopped.

SB26-065 was killed tonight with a vote of 5-2. The bill proposed to stop the sale of seeds with seed coating on them unless you got permission from the State to allow you to buy treated seed. This would have been devastating to crop production in Colorado and especially SD35.

Colorado Senate Republicans will always fight for farmers and ranchers.

My bill SB26-122 was introduced this week . It would raise the payout cap for individual incidents and allow the director of oil and public safety to adopt rules or issue policy guidance that provides exceptions to specific requirements in an ASTM standard for petroleum.

Yesterday, I got the privilege to sit on a panel with Senator Rodriguez and Rep Martinez this afternoon at the Colorado Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association conference today. It was a well attended session and I think people enjoyed learning about what goes on at the Capitol.

It was an honor to run a resolution to recognize the FFA leaders and students that came to the Capitol today!

Presented my first bill of the year, SB26-028: Removal of Wind Energy as a Clean Energy Resource. Sadly, it did not make it out of committee. I created some good discussion around the materials and the process it takes to build and repair these turbines, as it is not very clean.
