The source of the data center water psychosis is @_KarenHao, whose book Empire of AI was a NYT best seller but overestimated water use by 100,000% (lol). The response was just “oopsies” and all the incorrect books were kept in circulation 🤷🏻‍♂️

A typical data center uses about the same amount of water as a golf course, and the same amount of electricity as a steel plant. Yet for some people, they have become The Worst Thing In The World. Where does this motivation come from?

As Iranian civilization is under threat from internal & external forces, I return to my father’s words: “Our country is ancient. It has been invaded many times. What gives it continuity, what makes it dynamic and resilient, is its poetry.” Tyrants will die, but poetry remains.

#NSTBusinessTimes Sunway co-chairman Datuk Seri Idris Jala said concerns that the group would tap IJM's cash to finance the 10 per cent cash component of the offer were unfounded. "We are not using IJM's cash to offer the 10 per cent that is referred in the prospectus. We're using our own cash to make that offer," he said at a media briefing. Read more: bit.ly/4lV4EOz

@HudaMahmud79 @iqbaldasrilx Thanks. Seems like the type of building materials used and even design of houses is something gov could regulate in the age of climate change. But know it's uphill.

@Shecat17 @iqbaldasrilx Yes correct. And also with the help of vent block openings. So when the house heats up, cool air flowing into the house will help replace hot air. RM500k houses also use cement sand bricks nowadays. That absorbs heat very fast.

@HudaMahmud79 @iqbaldasrilx Thanks. Would you say older houses and apartments built in the 70s and 80s, for instance, are cooler than ones built more recently because of the type of brick used, among other factors?

@Shecat17 @iqbaldasrilx None. Because developers consider red/clay bricks as one of the main building elements that can be replaced with cement sand bricks to reduce construction cost & maximise profit. It's not really expensive if built as a single wall, but it is when it's a double wall.

@iqbaldasrilx Benar.

There are so many professors/ associate professors who are truly partisan political hatchetmen. No objectivity, no reliance on research in their analysis. Pure venom was spilt to kill their master's political opponents Why do this? You are spoiling the pristine world of academia. Is it worth the money/position you get? The attacks on Rafizi are truly insane. I have not seen a more genuine political dissenter like Rafizi, who sacrificed his comfort for a better country. You don't have to agree with everything he says, but he is an asset to us.

@NewsBFM It will not surpise if the management, in the name of profit- maximisation, plans to turn it into a multipurpose facility. Meaning, expect corporate events and private functions at all hours of the night (and early morning) to be held there as well. No sleep for the weary.
