@SmithAbromley @tonimason2502 The writing was also on the wall in the 73/4 and 74/5 seasons - we took a degree of action and 75/6 looked like it had been stemmed - then a change of manager and 76/7 we crash landed into Division 2😱.

@Shindig53 @tonimason2502 Yes, been obvious for at least two seasons that a lot is wrong. We have all seen it and that makes the negligence and downright incompetence from the club even harder to take. COYS always!

@Shindig53 @THFCOnThisDay @jimmy_greaves We must have been standing close to each other because I had that same view of Jimmy’s goal! I’ve just never understood how you could get tickets from the Supporters Club and find yourself in the “wrong” end! Made enjoying the game properly impossible.

@THFCOnThisDay One thing about being 73 is that I was blessed to see Danny playing for the Spurs back in the day! Still IMHO our greatest Skipper with due respect to Grimsdell, Rowe, Burgess et al - and the greatest of modern times, Steve Perryman.

↩️ 𝗢𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 • 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟬 Danny Blanchflower was honoured with a benefit match as Spurs faced a Northern Ireland XI. Paul Gascoigne stole the show with clown shoes and a cheeky penalty. A fun night celebrating a true Spurs legend and giving something back. #OnThisDay

@DeborahMattocks Have a good one though! One thing about retirement, Deborah, is that each day is like a Saturday BUT I still really miss the work environment and camaraderie. The four lovely Grandchildren that we are blessed to have make up for it all though! Have a good holiday weekend. xx

Dad and I originally had tickets for the Leppings Lane Stand - which was the Spurs end. Four guys who got into our compartment on the train at Kings X politely asked if we could help them out as they had 2 tickets for one end and two for the other. My Dad, an obliging gent, agreed we duly swapped and we then ended up in the Penistone Rd end which was primarily Forest fans. Although we had an adventurous time, Dad said “never again”! Having said that, we had a superb view of both goals - the ‘bend’ that Jimmy put on that first goal was amazing!

@THFCOnThisDay Interesting THFC connection with AC's Goalkeeper, Fabio Cudicini, being the father of Carlo who later kept goal for the Spurs!!

@Tottenham_Feed Very much agreed and such a shame we couldn't have had him earlier in the season. Even if we go down, I can see him then (with Board support) mould a side very much in his image that will come storming back - and surpass the way we did it in 1978 under the General.

🎂 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗱𝗮𝘆 • 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 Happy birthday to former Spurs forward Chris Jones! Chris made 185 appearances, scoring 42 goals, and was part of both the 1977 relegation and 1978 promotion sides. A player who saw it all in lilywhite. #HappyBirthday

@BeckydBecky Enjoy - the night in 1981 we took over old enemy’s ground at Highbury in order to clinch a place in the FA Cup Final!!

@thegloryboys @LikeAnsi @BeckydBecky It was later confirmed that the FA sanctioned Highbury recognising that Spurs fans had twice the distance to travel to Sheffield for the Hillsborough game than the Wolves crowd.
