@Cornfrmr Took my son the the ER after going to urgent care for shortness of breath/difficulty breathing. Urgent care did a d dimer test which showed possible blood clots so they sent us to ER. ER bill was $10,000, insurance paid $3,500 then they did an “adjustment” that took of $5,600.

Having a precautionary test done and it is $99 without insurance but $500 if I turned it into insurance. So much for the affordable care act BS.

@Bkitch1Bodie I went to college at UNK and lived there from 2000 to 2008. Probably one of the few cities I would actually consider living in again! And like another post said the Younes family is fantastic, they are really building up the community.

Also for my Nebraska ppl or well traveled, has Kearney always been this nice of a city? Or just recent. I get some like nice shwenky vibes from this place. Beautiful town

@kansasangus Yes we are heavily involved in our Public School but also appreciate all the opportunities public school provides. I have a Bachelor’s degree my wife has a Masters Degree plus another 36 credit hours. I would not want either of us to be the only teacher to our kids.

I've noticed lately in rural America that two very different approaches are underway in regards to educating young people. 1. Need a new school building. Million dollar state of the art facility. (With a significant focus on the athletic facilities) 2. Need to clear off the kitchen table, so the homeschooled kids can get to their math homework. That's the experiment, I've got my hypothesis of how it turns out.
