"Stories are what make us human. We tell stories, we listen to stories, we live inside stories. Perhaps our souls are nothing but tiny, decorative, multi-dimensional blankets we pull over our shivering brains, woven from delicate threads of narrative." God love Tom Lewis.

No Green politician, or Green adjacent figure, on the BBC’s flagship panel show - on the same night they won the most extraordinary by-election of my lifetime. It was the same story last week, too. The Greens overcame the BBC psy-op & won a majority of over 4000.
BBC Question Time@bbcquestiontime

Tomorrow, Question Time is in Birmingham Joining Fiona on the panel are Lisa Nandy, Alicia Kearns, Jess Brown-Fuller, Tom Kerridge, and Esther Krakue Join #bbcqt, Thurs 26th at 10.40pm on @BBCiPlayer, @BBCSounds, and @BBCOne Apply here: eu.castitreach.com/ag/mentorn/que…

@Springwritenow @Boynielaad I agree with this. Don’t think it’s yellow worthy especially when Steyn jumps so far into him. I think the new rule is bad for the game for that reason what we’ve seen. Totally get protecting the player in the air though

If one player jumps into the challenging player it’s always going to look way worse. Is there anywhere that says you specifically have to jump to contest for a high ball? I don’t agree with that decision when he’s also jumped into Arundell #SixNations2026 #SCOvENG

@beardonsports @Boynielaad Also, I think he did have a realistic chance based on his perception? He was looking at the ball. I don't think it was a cynical take out at all and I don't think the English player knew the Scot was there. Thought it was just... Rugby play. An ouch, penalty and move on

@Boynielaad Is that what the Law says ‘whichever player has a realistic chance’?

If Starmer looked away over Mandelson so did Parliament. So did most of the media. And yet Starmer finds himself almost forced to resign? Why? Part of the answer is a weak Labour Party, from top to bottom. Part of the answer is an increasingly unhinged political culture. Controversial opinion: I love Fallout, but Fallout Season 2 was pointless. Could have made the whole thing 2 episodes. Beautiful, but meandering, too many characters and deeply unsatisfying.

@Springwritenow The action of Resident Doctors is not going to be the hill I die on (ironic as that may be) for this one. To enable change, you need the backing of voters - this action, after last year's huge pay rise - feels arrogant and tin-eared and will not bring the public onside.

I don't think the #ResidentDoctors are winning hearts and minds today. Most of us have seen our salaries stay static or in real-term decline since 2010. Are doctors - who choose their vocation - more worthy than the rest of us? My sympathy's waning #r4today

@LeapfrogMark Exactly. So why should we start by conceding an argument that supports a more healthy society (economically and literally in this case). Accepting conservative points without a fight from the off leads to the situation we've got ourselves into: so lets win the argument.

@Springwritenow Indeed. But we need both a braver government for that, and to wean voters from the myth that individual taxation is bad and that tax avoidance is acceptable.

@LeapfrogMark There is plenty of money to go around if there is a willingness to do so. We live in an unequal society and getting worse, but that doesn't mean that we should just give up. Tax high income earners properly and create a system that works for people. It works in Europe. Cx

@Springwritenow Indeed - but very hard to achieve in a capitalist society where profit is all that matters in the private sector and where we want low tax but brilliant public services. Where does the money come from?

The last speaker complaining of the president being a victim of an assassination attempt conveniently ignores that it was a registered republican then blames the "left" for lecturing republicans. It's the Milosevic playbook: play victim and stoke division #r4today
