“…Among your instincts you will find the longing for strong friendships, that the modern evil tries to snuff out. And they have good reason to try this, because every great thing in the past was done through strong friendships between two men or brotherhoods of men…”

Me realizing that most people on rw twitter are inherently disagreeable and more comfortable having arguments than establishing common ground

@QuasLacrimas It is relatively unknown that forcing Anglos to speak French without a genuine need for it in every day life is that they all suck at it. Actual French Canadians speak with such a grating patois that most of them are unbearable to listen to; the opposite of a romance language

I hope the President is annoyed by that Canadian flag on Artemis II. A symbol of countries working together for a common good.

@Tats_Gunso Do you have a tradition or history of 'mountain men' living alone in the wild forests of the mountains by hunting their food?

Second only to "guaranteed basic income," high-speed rail (in a North American context) is the Platonic ideal of doomed idiotic policy supported by out-of-touch rich kids primarily because it makes them feel tingly. It's a test and a lot of people failed.
ZontarDow@ZontarAlt

@TristinHopper Yeah but Pierre kneecapping that with his opposition to the HSR line not because of specific details that increase the cost and timetable but as a whole was a large unforced error.

@Tats_Gunso In other mountainous countries, every green slope has goats, sheep, or cows grazing. That lets the people eat a very large amount of meat. In Japan where there is so much sloped land compared to flat, why did diet become mostly rice? Artifact of historical government control?

The average person is so stupid that they will say "haha you have a cheap car, that means you are creepy and dangerous" and then turn right around and say "this obviously different species from the other side of the planet that actually rolls around in shit all day should move in next door to me in unlimited numbers because we are all the same"

“I think it would be a shame if (this) were to end, because we live in a free society, so I feel like we should be able to." A day after Quebec passed its expanded secularism law banning collective public prayer, hundreds of people walked silently through the streets of Montreal to honour Jesus’s last day on earth, as they do every Good Friday in a procession known as the Way of the Cross. @constans The politicians that took over in the 1970s and onwards were Maoists who rule as the most Leftwing government in N. America with occasional sops to a DEI underclass identity politics (Quebecois).
