@DaleDawson2021 @DylanOgline I think it is the responsibility of a civil society to make sure all children are fed. Hungry children don't do well at school and democracy relies on an educated populace to continue. These are our future doctors and leaders, we want them to do well.

It's baffling to me that school meals aren't free. Kids raising money to pay off "lunch debt"! How could you possibly think that is OK? Every child should receive free healthy meals from their school. I will gladly pay my taxes to make that happen. There is no better investment.

@AwfullyMolly My daughter takes pills for mental health. As a dad I did find this difficult but she explained how she came to that and I trusted her decision. I also know she has struggled w the health system constantly on their attitudes about mental health.

@Colleen58299671 @todd_hicks @KyleClark I could drive better in the snow at 16 than most people who live here now. But ice is ice and sometimes the smart move is staying off the roads, if not a necessity. Makes it safer for everyone to have fewer people out there.

@sharontdoherty @CPRBrundin @KyleClark Denver Metro & other front-range cities made the deliberate decision to handle snow the way we do to improve air quality. It's a good trade-off and it makes sense that we are FINALLY acknowledging that the roads won't be cleared and we should keep people off of them

@KyleClark I do think they raise a good question - why schools here close vs. other countries w/ 8 mo. of winter (no closures) - 1 responder told me districts have built-in snow days after 2003 blizzard i.e. certain # of days/yr they have to close the schools (or pay teachers extra).

My ears were burning the whole time and it was not a cute story, or was a "weird kids are gonna weird" story that he felt was the same as me asking him to call me by a name I had gone by since age 18. It was humiliating. I went to profs privately after that.

Once, years into college I told a professor during roll call, "hey, that's me, but I go by Suriah". He sets his pen down, and tells everyone the story of a student who asked to be called Voldemort.
