Spot on. This won’t affect the rich. This will affect aspirational, hard working families who want a better future for their kids. They currently save the county about £10k pa by not sending their kids to state school. They pay fees out of after-tax income so they’re earning £20k to save the state £10k. 25% of kids at Bolton School are on bursaries which will now be 20% harder to fund. And the tax take would be reinvested into the black hole of education budgets. Why would we want to make all boats sink rather than rise? lbc.co.uk/news/headteach…
