Schoolgirl Arrested After Slashing Teacher In The Neck & Stabbing Two Pupils At Manchester School. In a shocking outbreak of violence, a 14-year-old schoolgirl has been arrested after three people, including a teacher and two fellow pupils, were stabbed inside a Manchester secondary school this morning. Emergency services rushed to the Co-op Academy on Plant Hill Road in Blackley shortly after 8.30am following reports of multiple stabbings. The school was immediately placed into lockdown, with terrified children ordered to remain in their classrooms as drama unfolded in the corridors. Eyewitness accounts suggest members of staff intervened to restrain the suspect before armed police could arrive, preventing what could have been an even greater tragedy. The 14-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault, grievous bodily harm with intent and remains in police custody. The victims, a 14-year-old boy, a 14-year-old girl, and a 27-year-old male science teacher, were all rushed to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, though the teacher is understood to have suffered a slash wound to the neck. All three are said to be in a stable condition. One local parent, speaking to Sky News as they waited anxiously outside school gates, said: "This is every parent’s nightmare. Life feels dangerous now, you send your kids to school thinking they’ll be safe, and then this happens." Headteachers and unions have called for urgent action on weapons in schools, with some teachers already expressing fears about rising violence in the classroom. One local resident told reporters: "Blackley used to be a tight-knit community. Now parents are scared to let their kids walk to school alone." The incident has also highlighted the diverse nature of the school. Latest available data shows that White British pupils account for around 41-42% of the student population, with significant numbers from other ethnic backgrounds. Almost half the pupils are eligible for free school meals, well above the national average and reflecting local levels of deprivation.
