This outcome underscores the power of democracy and NATO prevailing over the previous regime’s support for autocracy and Putin. As co-chair of the Senate NATO Observer Group, I look forward to working together to promote our shared values, enhance security and prosperity in Europe, and address Putin’s aggression while further strengthening our partnership with Hungary.

The Pope has no obligation to submit to any political leader, only to God alone. Encouraging to see Pope Leo stand firm in the faith after Trump’s disparaging Truth Social post.  The Church exists to serve Jesus Christ, and has and will continue to endure far beyond politics.

Peter Magyar is now saying that he will change the law to prevent Viktor Orban from becoming Prime Minister ever again. He's also suspending the state television network until he can determine they will be "unbiased". He's also demanding, with no legal precedent, that the President of Hungary steps down from their position. This man is a tyrant.

The victory of the opposition in Hungary yesterday, like the Polish election in 2023, is a victory for democracy, not just in Europe but around the world. Most of all, it’s a testament to the resilience and determination of the Hungarian people – and a reminder to all of us to keep striving for fairness, equality and the rule of law.
