feeling increasingly sympathetic to those guys who started out on inner work / meditative / psychedelic journeys or w/e and eventually converted to christianity. i imagine it's like getting married and settling down. it would be a relief to just commit to a single ethical and spiritual framework and community and start living life from it. unfortunately the impression i get is that you really do have to believe a bunch of stuff about jesus that, despite my increasing openness to spiritual and magical phenomena in general over the years, i can't bring myself to believe (yet?). but the like "jesus was merely a wise spiritual teacher" position feels pretty milquetoast. idk

I had awful insomnia for 5 years and this is what actually fixed it for me: - Stop holding emotion in your body (#1) - Exhaust your body through grounding work (running > everything) - Heavy squats (this will backfire without proper diaphragmatic breathing and bracing) - Don’t go to bed hungry - Small amount of sugar before bed - Yoga Nidra - Practice urge surfing instead of feeding tics/restlessness - Sleep on a grounding mat - Diaphragmatic breathing - Play Delta frequencies - Accept that you won’t sleep perfectly every night - Release guilt about “performing” badly after poor sleep - Cortisol blockers (last resort) Chronic insomnia that remains after fixing the basics (sun, exercise, diet, etc.) is often a symptom of unprocessed emotional or spiritual energy stored in the body It takes time to move through it If nothing works: Go completely still during a bout of insomnia, don’t move an inch for at least 30 minutes Notice where tension arises and allow it to be there without resisting it I had several intense somatic releases using this and it ultimately fixed my insomnia
