Subsidising meals in the House of Commons for MPs and parliamentary pass holders is thought to cost the UK taxpayer up to £7 million a year. Despite an ongoing cost of living crisis, we are paying for our MPs to scoff on fine dining.

Green MP Hannah Spencer has said she feels "uneasy" when she can "smell the alcohol" on MPs when they vote.
She says people in normal jobs wouldn't be able to have a few drinks during a shift, so why should MPs?

The people they represent often work longer hours in tougher jobs & would be sacked for doing the same
