Crazy Jim Ryan has the balls demoting Shuhei Yoshida, the guy who made PlayStation what it is today. He helped shape the majority of PlayStation IPs. That's just sacrilege.

Chris Reccardi is a big inspiration to me. I was really introduced to his work by my storyboard supervisor at the time, @ShermCohen who also greatly inspired my change in process. I reference him often in my lectures. I was very lucky to learn from great artists who have self-awareness of their skills and great taste.
Those experiences not only helped me with my approach but they gave me a deeper appreciation and understanding of great art. As my taste evolved, so did my ability to communicate with my own voice. That shift ended up pushing my career forward in a meaningful way.
I’m still refining this talk because there’s more I want to share, but I’m glad I’ve been able to highlight key turning points through the exact images that changed me as an artist. Eventually, I’d like to make it more public and teach what I’ve learned through live demonstrations, I just need to find the right place to do it.

Adam P recently did a college lecture where he spoke on Reccardi’s methods for appeal, I feel as though more young cartoonists should look to info like this instead of John K‘s blog lmaoo
