@ChrisWardle77 I think if you download the dataset from dfe website you can just filter by FSM and then by ethnicity.

Never visited this school. BUT… I know someone who teaches there. Ex Michaela, Charter, West London. I trained her! She’s best. I’ve ever trained. She’s also very picky! She really enjoys the school & massively rates the head & esprit de corps of entire team. Please Retweet!

@NeilMKay @BarryNSmith79 Thank you. We are disappointed with the decision but we will keep on working with others and sharing everything we do.

No Attendance & Behaviour Hub status for us this time. We’ll just carry on doing what we do, welcoming schools on our regular visit days. Maybe next round we’ll be good enough to hit the DFE’s benchmark. Please feel free to message me if you want to visit St George’s Blackpool.

@BarryNSmith79 Thank you, appreciated. Not sure what the criteria for selection is, they don’t really share that. The DFE should spend time visiting schools especially in challenging areas like Blackpool and others to help with this process.

@TheTeacher6 Your profile is locked. So another much more successful school chosen? Better attendance? Culture? Behaviour? Results? They can teach u? I think St George’s is very impressive. Possibly THE most impressive I’ve seen. Love to see who’s advising u.

I spent today in St George’s School in Blackpool with @TheTeacher6. This school is achieving astonishing things and has a wonderful culture. The thing that stands out about the school more than anything is how warm it is, and how polite the children are! 🧵

Another Michaela visit! Teacher energy impressive. You can’t run schools on ‘personality’. But real concerted effort to build relationships & warmth. Lot of humour. Teachers bounce off each other. Teachers joking with kids very much in evidence.

Join us on Sunday 18 May 2pm! Why? The schools bill is now in the Lords. We need amendments! Schools will suffer, behaviour standards will plummet and standards will drop. Here marchforchildren.uk for more info on what we want government to do and not do. Please RT!

March with us on Sunday 18 May, 2pm Whitehall: for OUR CHILDREN! Sign up/more info here: marchforchildren.uk A few weeks ago, home educator Michelle wrote to me ‘with trepidation’ because she disagrees with my ideas on education. But she and I have a goal in common: we demand action from our government! Now is the time for us to reach across political/ideological divides, hold hands and march TOGETHER. Whether you are an anti-smartphone campaigner or school leader against the schools bill or a parent worried about the lowering of standards, or a family devastated over VAT or just members of the public who care about kids… Whoever you are… March with us! Show them what we are made of. Children are the future. Fight for our children. Fight for the future of our country.✊

@Miss_Snuffy is trying to do something about this. She’s very keen to hear from people at all levels willing to put their head above parapet re: new education bill.

@ianwhite21 @adamboxer1 @StuartLock @m_chiles @NabarroNat I create gcse English literature booklets. Gcse texts. I use these with all year groups. A double page spread for each period. So 10 pages on ACC per day. Each period is different. Teacher reads aloud. Pupils read aloud. Pupils copy. I’ll do a recording.

@TheTeacher6 Ensuring safety is the school’s first duty. Everything is done to prevent a PEX. The next step is usually a place in another mainstream school. It’s not the end of the road, it’s hopefully the change they need. Why charge schools after they’ve done everything already?

Academies have clear funding agreements—can an LA legally impose a blanket charge on exclusions? Schools should be challenging this policy before it becomes the norm. #SchoolFunding #Academies

Exclusions in Blackpool are high, but why should schools bear the financial burden? This policy won’t reduce poor behaviour—it’ll just make schools more reluctant to exclude, even when it’s necessary. What happens to the safety & culture of our schools?

Blackpool LA wants to impose a fixed charge for every permanent exclusion, no matter when in the year it happens. Exclusions are already a last resort—should schools really be financially penalised for upholding high standards? #EduTwitter
