As we come to the close of 2023, we invite you to join us for some highlights of our annual Partners for #Democracy Awards Gala. This year, we repurposed this cherished event to be an Evening of Friendship & Solidarity in light of the October 7 attacks and ensuing war.

In these challenging times of war and uncertainty in Israel, this evening stood as a beacon of unity between the two nations – and as symbol of hope.

“Some said we were close to a civil war – and that emotional division has vanished” remarked Mr. Yohanan Plesner, the recipient AIFL’s Partners for Democracy Award, as he discussed the situation in Israel before and after October 7th at our special event-an evening of friendship.

We will hear from Moran Katzenstein, founder of Bonot Alternativa, and Lee Hoffman Agiv, Field Operations Manager, to learn more about how they have pivoted since the war in a manner that is consistent with their original fight for women’s rights.

Volunteers are being organized to provide clothing, food and shelter for displaced families. Trauma therapy is offered for the youth of Israel and the ever-innovative Israelis are building apps to keep people connected to essential services.

Join us as we learn more about Bonot Alternativa, an Israeli organization that was founded to protect women’s rights and has grown to organize protests of over 100,000 women across 80 cities in Israel.
