Spain's renewables build-out has structurally decoupled its electricity prices from gas markets. Gas now sets the price in only 15% of hours, compared to 90% in Italy. Countries that invested early in clean power are far less exposed to fossil fuel price shocks.

Pretty astonishing. In Texas, between 10:00 am and 4:00 p.m., 80-90% of electricity comes from carbon free sources. And storage is already a significant contributor in the early morning and evening

@CameronCorduroy I had a $600,000 over 5 years NSF Physics grant terminated last year because our grant mentioned "polarization" which was included in the banned terms list. We were discussing the polarization of light. We never got the grant reinstated.

@RiniSampath here in New York, speed cameras have been proven to reduce reckless driving and save lives. that’s where the convsersation should start and end, imo. “nuance” won’t bring back families that are killed by reckless drivers

Let me say again: Transit advocates need to avoid saying things that sound coercive, because the truth is the opposite. Disastrous zoning practices have made transit-oriented places expensive and scarce. So some ppl are coerced into owning cars, even if they hate them. 11/
