@_yungjordi @HdnIns1ght @RaySanti And I agree on Goldy. As long as he’s what they are planning just a backup when guys need a day off that’s good. Don’t want regular at bats all year. He was great first half last year and wore down. Ideally he is a guy starting once or twice a week total.

SS I feel like Volpe may never get his job back and if he does it’s his last shot. 3B I don’t love McMahon but he’s great defensively.

@shelbymustang @georgeteachman @RaySanti The whole problem with a trade is other teams watch him to. Even in the minors he’d hit for a solid average, but limited power and bad defense. Not sure teams are dying to trade for a DH without a ton of power.

@georgeteachman @TierReport @RaySanti A trade probably would have been the right answer. The problems he was having in centerfield aren't the kind that get solved moving to a corner outfield spot. @georgeteachman @shelbymustang @RaySanti The problem with Dominguez is he was talented enough that you are intrigued but never played well enough to be a guy other teams were dying to get. And right now he’s a .260 hitter with limited power and no defense. Really no room on any roster for that.

They had to have known this was an issue in the minors and instead of moving him over down there where he can work on his defense at said position without YS level pressure, or trading him while his value was sky high, Cash went Cash as always on a prospect.

@_yungjordi @HdnIns1ght @RaySanti You don’t want to bring up young kids to sit though. You are looking at a guy who ideally will only get a couple hundred at bats all year. For most teams that’s a vet. Young guys need regular at bats.

@TierReport @HdnIns1ght @RaySanti Dude is 50 years old. At some point it’s an indictment on our farm system. I’m not saying every player on the roster has to be below 25 but you shouldn’t need to bring back goldy.

@georgeteachman @shelbymustang @RaySanti The problem is his value was never sky high. People keep saying that. But, it really wasn’t. He was highly hyped prospect, but he was never like a top 25 prospect in the sport. He put up solid minor league stats, never great. He had a little power, never showed a ton.

@_yungjordi @HdnIns1ght @RaySanti I mean Jazz is as good as Gleyber. Gleyber drove everyone insane. He’d hit .270 but he’d do it hitting .370 one month and .170 the next. And yeah, Dominguez hit .260. He also had 429 at bats with 10 total HRs, three of them in one game. And he can’t make routine plays in left.

@HdnIns1ght @_yungjordi @RaySanti I mean those are just bench guys. Want an upgrade at SS, I get it. But with Lombard close to ready I think they won’t spend big there. Don’t love McMahon at third I get that. But with the bench guys you aren’t going to go get an elite player to come and sit the bench.

@HdnIns1ght @RaySanti You still have to fill out a bench. It’s fair to argue you wish they had made another big move, but the bench guys are just bench guys. You aren’t going to keep a guy like Dominguez on the bench. He needs at bats and if he’s not starting in MLB he needs to be in aAA.

@echockeyfan @DanClarkSports I don't think he'll be as good as last year. But, the thing is. He was a 3.5 WAR guy last year. Dominguez was .5. If Grisham is half as good as last year, and Dominguez is double as good as last year Grisham is still better.

Trent Grisham is hitting .162 this spring, will make $22 million this year, and will have a roster spot. Jasson Dominguez is hitting .325 this spring, will make $780 thousand this year, and just got optioned. "That's baseball, Suzyn!"

@HdnIns1ght @RaySanti Grisham had a really nice year last year. I mean he led left fielders in home runs. I know everyone is thinking he's going to drastically regress and be awful. But, if he's even 75% of last year that's a really good OF. Grichuk is just a bench guy who can hit lefties well.

@amurock55 @RaySanti I’m not banking on him to be the same guy he was last year. But every year he’s been a regular player he’s been at least a 1.8 WAR guy. Realistically that’s probably best case for Dominguez this year. So let Jasson improve his defense in AAA. Guys always get hurt he’ll be up soon

@TierReport @RaySanti Your banking on Grisham having the same type of year, he’s a great defender no doubt, but I believe he has peaked.. Dominguez has more upside and potential, he will only get better with reps.. ur paying Grisham 22 million dollars to be a premium defender and average hitter

@HdnIns1ght @RaySanti Aaron Judge still has prime years. Can’t waste them waiting on Dominguez to learn to catch a ball. If he improves in AAA great. People say well we have Volpe a lot of time. Thing is that didn’t work well so let’s not repeat that mistake.

@MissYankee @JohnC112461 I’d love to see him up, but it’s a big step from AA to the big leagues. Let him at least get some AAA starts this year. It’s baseball, starters will get hurt, he’ll likely be up soon. Most legit analysts never thought he was going to be up this soon.

Yankees are making another huge mistake sending Carlos Lagrange to the minors. He proved he belongs in the Majors. Now they going to allow him to rot away and disappear. Just terrible.

@amurock55 @RaySanti Because Grisham is much better than him right now. Dominguez has time to develop. He’s just 23. But he’s a switch hitter who only can hit well from one side of the plate and he’s not really even a passable left fielder defensively.
