@jumpjim It is one of my favourite things to do post flight! Particularly long haul when there isn’t such a mad turnaround rush. So far nobody has ever said no, even after training/line check flights. As you say @jumpjim, they always say it’s nice to talk to other people!

Let’s put this in context.. The VAST majority of my colleagues at BA are MORE than happy to have flight deck visits, and encourage them. Please bear in mind that the end of the flight is often much easier to accommodate than the beginning. If it’s a training flight, with someone who may be on their first flight on type, then it might be difficult (And inappropriate) to accommodate, but again the end of the flight is easier than preflight. If we (The flight crew) say no, then please don’t take it personally. We may be fighting slot delays, technical issues, crewing issues, late arrivals at the aircraft etc. and may simply not have enough time to see you. But please ask. A flight deck visit when I was about 10 led to a 31 year career (To date 😁), so it’s well worth taking them time to ask. #avgeek #avgeeks #aviation

@DaveWallsworth Very sad to receive an e-mail with an equipment swap for our flight to SFO from A380 to 787-9 in July. I was desperately hoping we’d be hearing your name from the flight deck! (However, it’s clear we won’t be able to go anyway!) Time to swap for a voucher and hope for next time!

Well it’s almost time to put this back on! No, don’t get all excited! I was just making sure the jacket was ok before I go in the simulator for some refresher flying on Sunday. That’s how we are all keeping our flying skills up at the moment until the #A380 is back in the air.✈️

There’s something really eerie about being towed across an airport in a broken plane with no power. Complete silence in the cabin isn’t something you ever hear on a commercial airliner... At least the crew @British_Airways are looking after us well!

However, as I am sure many are aware, pilots in BA have been balloted regarding industrial action. As a consequence, and until the situation is resolved, it would not be sensible for me to post online during this period, so I will be temporarily closing my account later today.

Today I have learnt that apparently @British_Airways are no longer offering their Flight Simulator Experienced. A sad day.

@British_Airways Just has a text saying my flight at 7am has been cancelled - received at 23:45 but all your numbers are closed and I don’t have any rebooking options on MMB. What am I supposed to do? Is there a 24 hour assistance number?
