These silver items dated 1775 were probably created by silversmith Jean-Baptiste Chaslon from La Rochelle. Chaslon is the same silversmith who created the silver sword whose story I tell in my book The Gift: How Objects of Prestige Shaped the Atlantic Slave Trade and Colonialism (2024) #slaveryarchive
