Brutal, brutal cover. The images are way over-the-top for a Captain America story, with the violence cranked up to an uncomfortable level. The Scarecrow might not have been a top-tier villain in Marvel (The DC version overshadows him immensely), but the character can lay claim to being in one of the most disturbing neo-horror tales in a traditional hero book. Captain America #280 (April 1983) J.M. DeMatteis/Mike Zeck

@HorrorHammer1 Probably in the top three of my favorite Toho films
English

@CountDraculaDB I dug the film when I first saw it on local TV back in the early 80s and then I got the Blu-ray and said wow this is a better film than I remembered
English

@monsterblog426 Soild sci-fi horror that I thought was a lot better than the original

@ILoveHorror7 Chopping Mall is the cooler, “tres 80s” title

@landofthe80s The crackpot TV commercials are pretty funny. I think I Remember one featuring a DJ? Just one of those rare commercials that didn’t have any scenes from the film. It was more of a vignette.

"Caveman" was released in theatres today back in 1981.
BITE-SIZED FACT | The slapstick comedy starred Ringo Starr, Dennis Quaid & Shelley Long. #80s

The anthology film that quietly crushed at the box office.
Tales from the Darkside: The Movie was a legit sleeper hit, matching the TV series' mild-but-steady success. Low-budget early episodes shocked stations into airing it, but later ones delivered gems like "900 Years of Darkness."
Surprise: it made $16M... profitable, but not enough for a sequel.

@FreddyKruegerDB The director's cut of Leatherface III is pretty awesome.

@PulpLibrarian I remember buying a different book with "insights" into how to win at Atari games. (The advice didn't work)

@HorrorHammer1 Cool looking werewolf makeup. As a kid, I used to wonder why this werewolf could speak. (and he seemed like a friendly werewolf!)

@DyerbolicalDB One of the most underrated character actors EVER

@comicbookaddt Great cover. The Ditko run would soon be coming to an end. (Sadly)

@HouseOfHorrorCo Around the time this movie came out, Martin H Greenberg edited a collection of new Dracula short stories. I thought it was a great collection. The title was Dracula: Prince of Darkness (Yes, just like the Hammer movie)
English

@HorrorCarnival Wickedly scary. Amazing how they pulled this scene off.
