The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (#UDHR) is the most translated document in the world. 🇦🇺 was 1 of 8 nations which drafted this document in 1948. We celebrate the #UDHR’s 75th anniversary & continue to prioritise our work to protect & promote human rights for all people.

I just left Nepal where I saw how glaciers are dramatically retreating. We cannot retreat. We need #ClimateAction now to end the fossil fuel age.

I want to express my deep gratitude for the wonderful hospitality I enjoyed from the government & people of Nepal. As a leading example of #ClimateAction & the second largest contributor to @UNPeacekeeping, Nepal deserves the full solidarity of the international community.

A highlight of my visit to Upper Mustang was joining a workshop with the Indigenous Lobha community to discuss their approaches to land management & climate change. 🇦🇺 is pleased to partner #NEFIN to run training with the Lobha community & to gather data on traditional practices.

Prioritize partnerships with civil society, #IndigenousPeoples, women, people with disabilities, youth & local communities as agents of change not merely victims of the #ClimateCrisis

It has been great for @iwgia to be part of the CSOs observers at the #GCFB35 - a lot of strong and knowledgeable voices, including #IndigenousPeoples representatives, that have been following the @theGCF for many years!

This is going to be a long COP! Guess whose voices will be missing from negotiating rooms as #COP27 presidency sends signals that COP is likely to expand into Sunday... Negotiations by exhaustion is particularly taxing for small delegations representing the people most affected

🔥Could #COP27 finally break the spell and call out the fact that meeting the #ParisAgreement targets requires that governments phasedown fossil fuel power and subsidies in an equitable manner? 🇮🇳India's recent support could provide new momentum as we head into week 2 👇
