After receiving a distress call from #SouthSudan 🇸🇸authorities when a commercial plane crashed yesterday, killing all onboard, #UNMISS immediately launched a search and rescue mission, redirecting a @UN helicopter to find the downed aircraft in extremely poor weather conditions and challenging mountainous terrain. A second aircraft, carrying a team of national civil aviation personnel and counterparts from #UNMISS, was also deployed to support the initial response effort. The mission remains on standby to provide any other assistance and extends its deep condolences to the families of those who lost their lives during this tragic incident. #A4P #InvestInPeace

🇨🇫 @UN_CAR welcomes the peaceful & orderly conduct of Sunday's vote across 19 of 20 prefectures of the #CAR. MINUSCA transported 30 tons of equipment, supported the National Electoral Authority & implemented the national elections security plan with CAR defence & security forces.
