When our cells are infected with viruses, they give off warning signals that stimulate the immune system into fight mode. 🧬🦠🥷💪What if you could make cancer cells pretend to be viruses and release similar signals? New research from @UTAustin suggests this is possible — and that the immune system could therefore be enlisted to fight tumors alongside other therapies. The research stems from longstanding research collaborations with @UTMDAnderson.
